Then continue into the 80s with Dream Street Rose, Shadows and Salute. Gordon Lightfoot set a high benchmark for singer/songwriters. Don't confine yourself to a greatest hits package. You're missing out on some of the highlights of his career.

Mature Vocals at their Best. I own both this and the United Artists Classics and Gordon Lightfoot has been one of my favourite singers since the mid-70s. The tremolo in his later voice is glorious but I love the angst of the early voice quality of the younger man equally. These songs are the essence of Canada in my mind, I see the landscape and seasons in the words. I think also of love, lost, won, forgotten, remembered with nostalgia. “Affair on 8th Avenue” says it all. Gordon Lightfoot is the voice I want to hear in front of a fireplace with brandy and my favorite ….
