Rediscovering a genius. One of the best songwriters ever!

Rainy day me and Madison. February 2nd will always be the 1 day that the Stockton panthers will always have on their minds and for good reason the panthers all say that Madison has been a big part of the Stockton panthers and Madison loves her Stockton cat so this Gordon lightfoot song is appropriate for master and Madison thank you to a great hockey club and the city of Stockton for a great song of rainy day me and Madison

A Winner. Introduced me to other of Gord's gems beyond the radio played hits. His lyrics and voice rarely miss the mark. Songs are intelligently and sensitively crafted. Few songs are as heart wrenching as Circle of Steel or as expansive as Canadian Railroad Trilogy. A great collection.

A Gem in my collection. I love this album. I am so glad that I can access it on my phone; almost anywhere I go. Thanks for all the years of your soulful, uplifting music, Gordon.

Don Quixote. Every time I play this song you keep removing it why are you doing this.

Gordon Lightfoot Review. Are you kidding?? A Must!

Gord's Gold. Great songs but, where's the "wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald "?

Wonderful!. I'm in tears just listening to this album. It brings back many memories.

Gords' Gold. This is a gathering of lightfoot's greatest hits. I like all the songs in the album. This is a welcome addition to my collection.

Gord's Gold. First off, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald was released in 1976. This album came out in 75. The United Artists material has all been rerecorded and with the exception of Wherefore and Why, the originals are better. Buy the albums called "Did She Mention My Name" and "The Way I Feel." then treat yourself to the first 5 Reprise albums. Each one a classic. If You Could Read My Mind, Summer Side of Life, Old Dan's Records, Don Quixote and Sundown. Summertime Dream is also a must. Avoid Gord's Gold II. Then continue into the 80s with Dream Street Rose, Shadows and Salute. Gordon Lightfoot set a high benchmark for singer/songwriters. Don't confine yourself to a greatest hits package. You're missing out on some of the highlights of his career.

Gord's Gold. I listened to this double LP a hundred times. And, unlike the usual CD issue, here you get "Affair on 8th Avenue." It's a perfect gathering of Lightfoot music. Only the fantastic "Seven Island Suite" is missing. (You need that classic, too.)

soakin through my vanity fairs. this album saved my marriage! i was never much into music, i was never a passionate lady. i had been married for fifteen years, and my husband still had the drive of a 16 year old if you know what i mean. frankly, i was pooped. but then one day he brought his old record collection home and he put this one on. never has something brought out so many feelings and desires. i felt like a new woman. i felt gold. this is a great album for any woman that has lost that "summer side of life."

Great.. Gordon Lightfoot has a one-of-a-kind voice. True classic folk-rock.

epic album. gords gold

Sundown. Wouldn't download after I paid for it.

Mature Vocals at their Best. I own both this and the United Artists Classics and Gordon Lightfoot has been one of my favourite singers since the mid-70s. The tremolo in his later voice is glorious but I love the angst of the early voice quality of the younger man equally. These songs are the essence of Canada in my mind, I see the landscape and seasons in the words. I think also of love, lost, won, forgotten, remembered with nostalgia. “Affair on 8th Avenue” says it all. Gordon Lightfoot is the voice I want to hear in front of a fireplace with brandy and my favorite ….
