A Song About Nothing?. The T-Heads could be considered as at least 2 bands, maybe 3, depending on the era when they made their music. This album shows the first 2 periods: of great straightforward songs powered by frenetic energy and complete unpretension, morphing into one of the most experimental bands of their times. After all, the live songs of the second half of this album are infused with the extra skill of Adrian Belew, simultaneously of King Crimson fame. This album is great, lying alongside a handful (at most) of other live album masterpieces, for which one will have to scour the discographies of other innovative and hardworking rock and pop bands. Anybody who likes good music should give it a try. So what about the question: Is a song like ``Don't Worry About the Government" really a `song about nothing' (Seinfeld style)? We would have to ask the T-Heads, but I don't think so. When you compare it to the cliche topics of most rock and pop songs, you appreciate the clear simplicity. A song about something, not necessarily attempting to be overly deep, but at least honest and great to listen to.

When Talking Heads Talk (LIVE), You Have To Listen!!!!. I had the vinyl version of this and was astounded, then finally 2 decades later here it is in it's digital form.First off, the album was already recorded fantastic so it is no wonder that now on CD it goes beyond fantastic to a must listen, must own compilation of music by one of the most intriguing bands of the late 70's and 80's.

A Must Have!. Quite possibly one of the best live collections available anywhere. Two and a half hours of music showing how creative and tight this band was live. "Warning Sign", "Memories (Can't Wait)", "The Great Curve", "Love -> Building On Fire" highlight and album full of gems. Not just for Head fans. This is the most played album in my playlist.

If You Like Stop Making Sense....... You will love this album. This is an album that every Head's fan should own or if not, download. The Heads shined on the stage and their live versions of songs are hard to find. This album takes the early stuff from 77 and Buildings and Food, and makes them into wonderful live perfromances. A must have for any Heads addict.

Classic. Now if you could only get the booklet.. I have been writing to Warner Brothers for years wondering why TNOTBITH had not been releaed with the rest of the catalog. Turns out my patience was greatly rewarded. Not just has this been remastered, but it's loaded with bonus and previously unreleased tracks. And you may ask yourself, why another live album? Unlike many live albums which capture a single night or tour, this album actually features the evolution of a band. Disc 1 captures the band from 1977-79 where they are essentially the four man band. The music is fairly stripped down and comparable to the songs they recorded on the first three albums (TH 77, More Songs About Buildings & Food, & Fear Of Music). You hear them in small clubs and gradually larger audiences. Then of disc 2, they tackle the material of Remain In Light with more complex African rhythms and funk beats. Here, the band is forced to double its size with the amazing Steve Scales on percussion and Adrian Belew adding fantastic guitar solos. Some may wonder why some songs are repeated on the album. The early version called Electricity which is more rock later becomes Drugs, the ambient version featured more like on Fear Of Music. There are other repeats here, Psycho Killer and Stay Hungry. Again we see how the songs evolve over time and the difference with a small and big band. All featuring great sound and remastering. I penalize the album one star for one major problem which is the fault of iTunes. You can't publish the booklet that comes with the CD (yay old technology!). It's stuffed with photos, liner notes, and several reviews of the various shows. This recording is as much an autobiography of a band on the rise as an essential live album. It's a great bookend to Stop Making Sense. The download is great, but the actual CD package is a must have. Pick this up!
