I love this album.. I love every single track on it, but I don’t think it’s for everybody. I love it’s artistic value and it trio-hop vibes. My favorite songs on it are: all of them, except Shanti/Ashtangi.

Has some very inspirational tracks. I love Drowned , Power of goodbye and Frozen and Shanti . All are unique tracks that’s very different then what we are use to hearing from her but I honestly think the rest are filler . I also never understood the hype behind the title track . It’s annoying 🤷🏽‍♂️

Not just the best Madonna album, but one of the best albums EVER.. Mystical. Haunting. Dark. Melodic. Electronic. THE Madonna album. It's like listening to New Age and Electro at once. At 66 minutes long it's freakin' epic (2 songs run over 6 minutes long) and Madge's beautiful voice just compliments the spacey sound. Track by track review: 1. Drowned World/ Substitute for love: 9/10. Epic intro with Drowned World. This can be so quiet and haunting and yet also gets edgy. 2. Swim: 10/10. Very dark and haunting. Love the use of the ocean metaphor. Reminds me of "Pop" era U2. 3. Ray of Light: 9/10. The one you've probably heard and seen the video for. Total party anthem! 4. Candy Perfume Girl: 9/10. Really good edgy one. Shows Madonna's Alanis side. 5. Skin: 10/10. Really dark, long, and awesome. It gets a little repetitive but it's so good you won't mind; the bagpipe bit going on in the background is a little distracting though 6. NRM: 8/10. First weak one; starts off good but turns into a sort of hip-hop song; not that that's bad but this album deserves better. 7. SFH: 9/10. Really good haunting rock/dance number. The ending is really weird though. 8. Shanti/Ashtangi. 9/10. This one's really creepy, but awesome. That's all I'm going to say. 9. Frozen: 10/10. One of the best songs on here, and one of Madonna's best in general: dark, long, haunting, emotional, beautiful...it's so good that it should be in the Disney film of the same name! 10. POG: 10/10. Another dark, emotional ballad that's the best song on here, and the best of her entire career. 11. THANTH: 8/10. This one is OK but not the best on here. Another dark relaxing one. 12. Little Star: 9/10. Really beautiful song about her daughter. You have to hear it. 13. MerGirl: 10/10. A really beautiful ballad about her mother. The perfect way to end the album. This album is near perfection. I admit it gets a little old on repeated listen, but overall, one of the best albums ever.
