Deserved the Oscar!. This score fit the film so perfectly and it propelled the movie to a place it might not have gone, had the score not been so prominent! It's inventive and so original. Even "In the Hall of the Mountain King" has a new, fresh sound to it! It's a very dark, cold score to fit a very dark, cold movie. It's become my favorite film score.

Reznor's Ingenuity. Trent Reznor has evolved so, so much during his career and I've always been a fan of his developments. This is an amazing score and I believe it was definitely deserving of the Academy Award. When Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor (who is from Nine Inch Nails, by the way) get together, they create music that speaks the emotions and the energy without a single word. Yes, it's electronic and synthesized. However, many people vastly underestimate the skill required to create good Electronic music. Furthermore, both of these guys are phenomenal musicians and play multiple instruments. This score is simple, but that was exactly what was needed for the film. I love the blend of electronic vibes with upbeat energy and the more ambient and dark tracks. It works surprisingly well. Love it! If you like this album, I recommend Ross and Reznor's first project: an experimental ambient series of albums entitled "Ghosts." Possibly my favorite soundtrack of the last decade. Amazingly done by Trent Rizner and Atticus Ross. Love when they team up, as in Gone Girl's soundtrack. Could listen to this all day long.

Truly Amazing. This soundtrack is the greatest soundtrack I have ever heard, along with that, it is the greatest movie I have ever seen. Deserves more than just five stars.

Learn from this soundtrack.. For those interested in trying out a soundtrack that is outside the box of string and woodwind crescendoes, buy this soundtrack. There is a beauty in the music that Reznor and Ross create here, it impacted every message that Fincher was trying to deliver. For the thousands, perhaps millions, of Nine Inch Nails fans this is thoroughly satisfying, for those who haven't delved into true composed synthetic symphony, try it out. There is no dominating force in music that decides what makes appropiate music, but this soundtrack shows raw emotion, just as well as an orchestra. Amazing soundtrack. This won an Oscor because of it's impact, not how it was created.
