Dire. My wife got tired of me playing this but I don't care. This is a truly great CD. Ticket to Heaven for example, is (I think) truly sarcastic but it' such a pretty song that's not how it comes across. A must have.

Humanoid. Ignore the first review...this is a great and very underrated album. Every track is excellent and unique. To say that it's not as good as their previous work is a glib and inaccurate remark. The lyrics and instrumentals are superb. Some of the best I've heard from DS. Mark Knopfler infuses a country music flavor into many of the songs, and does it better than most American country musicians. One of my all time favorite DS albums that never gets stale

Still great after all these years.. Dire Straits like the Beatles put albums out without filler in them. Yet they experimented with different styles of music with great success. I like all of their albums except for the one with Twisting by the Pool. Luckily they put the song Twisting by the pool on the greatest hits album. But everything you can get you hands on by Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits.

Great. All of these songs are good. Mark Knopler is the lead singer of Dire Straits. I like Calling Elvis, On Every Street, and When it Comes Back to You. All three of these songs are really good and are my favorite songs on this album.

GOOD STUFF HERE!. I have to agree that Brothers In Arms was a hard act to follow, but this CD has some amazing songs that remain some of my all time favorite DS songs today. Definite downloads include: Planet of New Orleans (I love the SAX and guitar), Fade To Black (brilliant guitar work), You And Your Friend (ditto), When It Comes To You (very cool vibe), and How Long (a great two-step on the country floor song and great lyrics). These songs help to make this a work that Mark and the boys can be proud of. I'm glad to see the complete CD is available here. I still have the original CD release. It IS that good.
