Exhaustive attempts at nailing the perfect "Christmas is Coming","O Tannenbaum" etc. You can hear Guaraldi's frustration with himself when he hits a wrong note. Some of the demos are unrecognizable to what made the final album. Theres a couple of all out crazy jazz creations that would have freaked out families in their living rooms at the time. There's a take on "Skating" that is so exciting with a brilliant wild drum solo that effortlessly leads back into the piano scales...stunning. I will say the full Super Deluxe is probably only for the true die-hard fans. The 2022 stereo remastering is incredible...loud, clear, warm. So if you don't need all the extras, still get the new mix.
