By the way (by the way) Layne Staley IS AiC (sorry WD, not that I'm dissin' ya.... it's just for some people like me when Layne died .... so did AiC - HOWEVER he is very much alive to me when I listen to him sing on a daily basis) xo

Excellent. Some of their best songs are on this album. If you have only recently started listening to Alice In Chain, buy this, it'll probably save you some cash. On a sidenote, Apples 26 is probably Eddie Vedder.

my Generation. This band was revolutionary back in the day and still is. AIC was the only grange band for me. pearl jam , Nirvana and Soundgarden even all tho these bands got all the credit and are good in there own way. I do not feel come close to AIC. this band surpassed all the others and in never changing their sound. When I create a comic or game art character and need a push on an idea AIC is one of the bands I listen to get that insane creature or hero. Awesome stuff. CGI artist

What a band. Whoever said old crap is a moron . This holds up just as good now as it did back then . I may say even better . Band was pure genius . This is better then any rock that has come out in the 2000s period . Pick it up show your kids .

Alice In Chains. Was and always will be one of the best bands ever. Every show they had this year ( 2010 ) sold out. That among their popularity & sales makes Apples 26 comment irrelevant.

Missing tracks. I gave it a 5 star because this collections of songs deserves it but.. not only is Down in a Hole missing, where is Don't Follow? Soft song yes but one of the greatest songs to come out of the 90's and from what I hear lately, the 90's were the last time anyone made good music. Aside from Pearl Jam who have finally awoken over the past 6 years to give some of the best live shows ever performed

Fabulous Musicians!. Alice in Chains are the best grunge rockers! I like every song on this album and the unplugged ones are especially good and prove what talented musicians they are! RIP Layne...

Great music, almost perfect compilation. I love AIC, one of my top ten bands. I recently bought this to have all of the excellent non-album tracks on here, and the price was a steal! I agree with the comments about the absence of "Down in a Hole", my own personal favorite by AIC. In my opinion, this compilation would be absolutely perfect if the songs "Down in a Hole" from Dirt, "Rotten Apple" and "Nutshell" from Jar of Flies was added. What to drop? That is never an easy decision, but since this is so 'Dirt' heavy, I would drop "Hate to Feel" and "God Smack". There you go, perfection! This is still a five star compilation as is, so order with confidence in total satisfaction!

This is amazing!. ... but for and extra 10 bucks you get their ENTIRE library!!!! Even the previously released stuff and demos. This is awesome but I'd get Music Bank. Long live Layne Staley!

Isn't this supposed to be essential.... ...with all their greatest hits on here? I agree with the guy below me, where is Down In a Hole? That's one of their best song ever, and we don't see it on here? How disappointing iTunes. So listen up newcomers: When you're putting Alice In Chains on your iPod for the first time, you should buy all of their albums if you have enough money. And even if this seems incomplete * for some reason, and you can't seem to find that song, look on there album Dirt for Down In a Hole. That's a song you'll love I bet. This is coming from a kid who was born in 1994, I like to call myself an Alternative/Grunge baby.
