KINGS FROM QUEENS!!!!!!!!. It is entirely impossible for me to truley articulate what this album represents to the millions of hip-hop fans and myself. You had to been a teen at some point the 1980's, the culture of Adidas, Fat Lace Shoe Strings, Boom Box Radios, Break Dancing, Pagers(were the cell phones of the day, Kangos, and Gold Ropes.... This was not just an album during that era, it was an era defined by this album. Is it the greatest rap album of all time? I can't say that but I can say that because of "KING OF ROCK" there is a greatest rap record ever. Daryl and Joe is one of the songs on the album in which I feel is pure hip hop, from the beat to the cuts to the swag of young rappers making money. It's worth buying!

Classic hip hop. This is before my time but I just bought this at my local record store this weekend and can't stop listening too it must have for any hip hop fan.

SO GOOD CAN'T EXPLAIN!!. I love run dmc and this is their best album!!!!

Always knew.... I always knew there would be a band out there just waiting to grace my ear-drums, and I found them. I have always heard of these guys, but never listened to them. Then on a songza playlist, they came on and I literally almost starting crying, it was/is that freaking great.

Great. Don't listen to that idiotic review. Just appreciate this album for what it is.

King Of Rock. Legendary Old School Hip-Hop.

Memories. My grandma bought this for me in 85 when I was in 4th grade I used to play it with my friends great times in elementary R.I.P. Jam Master Jay

Thanks Itunes.... for the CLASSICS. This is one of my all-time rap groups...

King of Rock. Run-DMC is by far the 2nd best rap group of all time. This album I hate to say is their second best and is a distance away from their first. And have to give some credit for taking a risk and doing what they love the most making music. I'm white 14 and have a obsession for music because it's the most influecial thing on the planet to me. Movies are good too, anyway this album is a classic and I'd listen to it on a daily basis. Remember that white people like me weren't cool with this at the time and today many see this to be a masterpiece-like me.

RUN DMC. i am a big fan of run dmc. all their popular songs have have good beats. but this album's beats are awesome. they are extreme. DO WORK!

Are these reviews a joke?. To not rate one of the best old-school rap albums below 5 stars is a criminal offense and, as such, should be investigated by the appropriate rap-album-review-investigating agency. Run DMC were one of the brightest shining stars of the early days of rap and this album clearly demonstrates why. With such tracks as "Rock the House" and "King of Rock", one of the greatest rap songs ever. With strong beats and excellent writing, this is a class on how rap should be performed.

Classic "Old-School" Skills. Relying on simple snare beats, rock guitar riffs, and Jam-Master Jay's (R.I.P.) turntable scratches, Run-DMC crafted memorable (sometimes comical) rhymes that don't rely on profanity or the "N-word" like so many of today's talent-starved gangsta rap copycats. This album (originally Tracks 1-9 only) heavily influenced the Beastie Boys' early sound (they used "Slow and Low" on their debut License to ILL), among others. Check out highlights "King of Rock", "Can You Rock It Like This", and "You Talk Too Much". The bonus tracks iTunes threw in make this buy a great deal, on top of it being one of rap's quintessential albums.

Old School at it's BEST. Run DMC dropped some of the hottest tracks during this era!!!! You can't say anything bad about this one. A word of advise for the person who left a review before me " If you don't like rap then don't leave a review at all"! This area is for people who are really looking for good honest reviews from people who can appreciate this kind of work! Peace.

Pioneers. Straight Dope! or as they say "Fresh!" This IS the definition of Hip~Hop!
