Always knew.... I always knew there would be a band out there just waiting to grace my ear-drums, and I found them. I have always heard of these guys, but never listened to them. Then on a songza playlist, they came on and I literally almost starting crying, it was/is that freaking great.

Are these reviews a joke?. To not rate one of the best old-school rap albums below 5 stars is a criminal offense and, as such, should be investigated by the appropriate rap-album-review-investigating agency. Run DMC were one of the brightest shining stars of the early days of rap and this album clearly demonstrates why. With such tracks as "Rock the House" and "King of Rock", one of the greatest rap songs ever. With strong beats and excellent writing, this is a class on how rap should be performed.

Classic "Old-School" Skills. Relying on simple snare beats, rock guitar riffs, and Jam-Master Jay's (R.I.P.) turntable scratches, Run-DMC crafted memorable (sometimes comical) rhymes that don't rely on profanity or the "N-word" like so many of today's talent-starved gangsta rap copycats. This album (originally Tracks 1-9 only) heavily influenced the Beastie Boys' early sound (they used "Slow and Low" on their debut License to ILL), among others. Check out highlights "King of Rock", "Can You Rock It Like This", and "You Talk Too Much". The bonus tracks iTunes threw in make this buy a great deal, on top of it being one of rap's quintessential albums.

KINGS FROM QUEENS!!!!!!!!. It is entirely impossible for me to truley articulate what this album represents to the millions of hip-hop fans and myself. You had to been a teen at some point the 1980's, the culture of Adidas, Fat Lace Shoe Strings, Boom Box Radios, Break Dancing, Pagers(were the cell phones of the day, Kangos, and Gold Ropes.... This was not just an album during that era, it was an era defined by this album. Is it the greatest rap album of all time? I can't say that but I can say that because of "KING OF ROCK" there is a greatest rap record ever. Daryl and Joe is one of the songs on the album in which I feel is pure hip hop, from the beat to the cuts to the swag of young rappers making money. It's worth buying!

Thanks Itunes.... for the CLASSICS. This is one of my all-time rap groups...
