ELO Take on Abba for the crown of POP. Disco-Very isn't one of the Electric Light Orchestra's strongest albums, but it is chock full of perfect late 70's pop tunes and 5 top ten hit songs. However scratch under the surface and there is isn't much going on so it's hard to see this as a strong album compared to Out Of The Blue or A New World Record that preceeded it. That said this was a number one hit "all over the world" so I'm sure at the time Jeff Lynne was feeling he could do no wrong. Nostalgia will no doubt see ELO as a brilliant Beatles influence pop hit factory, but if you delve deeper you will find much better albums than this

Elo goes pop. By now Jeff Lynne had taken ELO so far down the pop rabbithole that the essnce of the ELO sound was never in my opinion to be recaptured. If this album bought you to ELO please delve deeper into their back catalogue.

Their BEST Album. I definately feel this is their best album without question. In terms of being a complete album rather than Out of the Blue which is excellent but filled with too many fillers. Discovery was ELO's most accomplished, polished album and couldn't stop playing it in 1979....LOVE THIS ALBUM!
