Best Show of that tour. I’ve listened to all the shows from the Spring 1990 tour. i have one of the box sets and was able to burn a friend’s other box set, for a total of about 45 CD’s worth of music from that tour. I have to say that this particular show from 3/29/90 at Nassau Coliseum is far and away the best of the bunch, and not just because Branford Marsalis sat in on much of it. The whole show has a drive, focus and energy that surpasses the other shows on that tour. And Eyes of The World and Estimated Prophet are phenomenal. My favorite Dead era is still 1970 thru 1975, but this show is right up there too.

1990. I'm pumped, just downloaded it and listening to it as we speak. The dead never lost it's touch.

Best Show of the Ninties?. Maybe, the best live Grateful Dead show of the nineties? It's at least up there...

Jazz Dead. The first five songs are the best. The best Jack Straw ever, of the 45 or so live shows I have Excellent Birdsong. Guest sax player Branford Marsalis comes in from Birdsong and for the rest of the show. So it becomes a jazz version of the band. An interesting experiment, but I personally prefer the Dead to the jazz version of the Dead. I'd say download the first five songs, or, if you're up for a jazz experiment, you'll love this. Not, Eyes, jazz version, is beautiful, one of the best.
