Well the only thing I have to say to you, if you do not recognize real music when you hear it, and you can't give props where they are too due, then get another J.O.B. This girl is the baddest thing out here. and only to rival is Mrs. Mary j or newcomer Chrisette Michele, and as far as just opening her mouth, she could and would give Mary J a run for her money. So any one reading this dis what the very unknowledgeable album reviewer said, and just listen. you will find that this girl is the cream in the cofee and the butter on the bread. it is too bad that her voice and talents are to far beyond her age of 20+ years. I know this will make it impossible for most younger ones to appreciate her, though some of us 30 yrs olds do. So for us and no doubt older ones who do not think it started and stops with ah J Z, honey please keep singing. I can't wait for her new album to come in May.

Throwback Soul. Leela, where have you been all my life? I love Jill Scott. I love Erykah Badu. I love Angie Stone. But this is the best authentic old school soul music I've heard for years. Just got this set, and i'll be spinning it a long time.

backporch soul. leela james knows how reach right inside you and pull out the rythm you may have forgotten resided there. if you can get past "music" (turn the repeat one button off), the whole cd will keep you in a state of hypnosis as you listen to her deep, raspy voice reach a variety of ranges all while speaking to your soul, letting you know it's okay to groove a little in your car or at home by yourself, or even at a backporch bar-b-que. just groove.

Amazing Album - BUY IT. Do not think twice, buy this album! This girl is the most amazing vocalist and is virtually unheard of by most people. I compare every new RnB album i buy to this one and none hold a candle to Leela James. This is the only review i've ever written and it is because this girl is so amazing

well worth it.... go through and listen to the entire album...i think she hits a solid mark. my favorites are "LONG TIME COMING" "GHETTO" ...and believe it or not... "INTRO" (i wish it were a true song)
