very entertaining!!!. Saw EVITA! on Broadway with my mom (she's a ricky martin fan) but Elena really stole the show. Those who say she has a horrible voice .... one word: ignorance. Andrew Lloyd Webber hand picked her for both the London and NY revivals. If you have a problem with it, or think she ruins YOUR favorite score, please write Andrew a letter explaining your point of view. I am finding myself so entranced with her performance, I bought both the 2006 and 2012 recordings for comparison. She sounds great on both, but the 2006 is a better sung recording (due mostly to Matt Rawle's great, saracastic portrayal of Che). Listen to clips available from the recording... if you have any sort of ear for authentic music, you will understand what Elena is all about.

Five Star Performance. I saw this show not knowing what to expect, and wound up loving it so much I saw it again three weeks later! Elena is the perfect and ONLY Evita as far as I'm concerned. Her accent brings a whole knew authenticity to the role! I mean seriously, who better to play a woman from Buenos Aires than an authentic Argentinian! She also brings such poise and presence to the stage, and is truly phenomenal to watch. Michael Cerveris is an exceptional Juan Péron, and has the perfect accent for the role, and Ricky Martin as Che just seals the deal! His articulation and enunciation is perfect, and he also has a perfect accent! To everyone complaining about Elena's accent, just remember you paid to watch/listen to an International show about a woman from Argentina! If that's too much for you to handle then maybe you should stick to The Little Mermaid! I love this album and this cast, and have not been able to stop singing the songs for months! Trust me this is the show to see, and the CD to buy!

Superb!. Now people trash talk Elena but is she wasn't good enough they wouldn't have cast her in both the London and Broadway revivals. Her performace as Eva is full of emotion and her voice is unique and brings a lot to the role. The entire cast is fabulous. I wish it hadn't closed because I'd love to go see it so many more times.

A very revived revival. I appreciate the glowing authenticity of this album, largely due to Elena Roger and her pure Argentinian accent. She adds an incredibly genuine and exciting vibe to every song, especially "Buenos Aires." There are imperfections, but they all fit perfectly for the character. As for the instrumentals, Andrew Lloyd Webber reinvented the score for the modern age, simplifying it and giving a fresh flavor to it. I think all in all it's tremendous, especially when compared to the movie version. The energy will keep you entertained for weeks.

Takes me back. I have loved ALW music and Evita my whole life and when I got to see this production on Broadway with Ricky and Elena I was blown away! Listening to this cast recording brigs such a modern twist to such a classic broadway power show. Ricky was a thrill to see on stage and i get to relive that seductive performance of his every time i play this album. High Flying Adored is my favorite Ricky Martin song on this album. Elena Roger brings a real authentic quality to the show. She was a joy to watch and her being Argentinean you get a great version of the songs being sung with an accent. Then there is one of the most beautiful ballads ever written " Another Suitcase in Another Hall." I was in traced by Rachel Potters voice. so pure and harmonious. While the original cast recording of this iconic musical is untouchable in its greatness, this modern take on the score is…just that…modern. LOVED it!!
