ambition. unreal

Ambition Review. Good album Sounds more a great mixtape to me No concept or storyline too it Just straight spittin tho Check it out!

Amazing!. 1000 times better than his 1st offering... Wake has really found his groove here. Wale, Rick Ross n Meek Mill are the perfect ensemble. You will love this album!

It Speaks For Itself.. Ambiton is a record full of what Wale believes are his best songs he has created over the past two years. No real concept, or sound. After signing to Rick Ross's MMG, Wale was given the opprotunity to work with bigger producers. And, that's one thing about this album that is pretty consistent; the production. Each song has it's own unique sound. Here's a breakdown of each song. Lyrics wise Wale seemed to be almost lazy with the songs Illest B**** & No Days Off. Both songs had good beats but seemed to be too repeative and didn't expand on the topic of the song enough. Slight Work with Big Sean is sure to be a radio hit, and is a entergetic bouncy song, not made to be great, just made to have fun and so Wale & Sean could work together. Don't take that song too seriously. It's just some young guns having some fun. Wale also made a few bangers on this album with both Chain Music and Bait. Both are good songs, Chain Music being the better of the two with Wale's flow taking over the track. Wale also made 4 love records featuring Jeremih, Lloyd, Miguel & Ne-Yo. Some may say he has sold out, but you have to remember Wale is emotional man, and really puts his heart into his music. A breakdown of all four: That Way is Wale's song. Both of his verses flow so well and his lyrics are right on point. Wale's flow carries onto Lotus Flower Bomb for an easy listen. And even Sabotage is a very easy listen. But, I would say Wale would of been better off by not putting White Linen on this record. It really doesn't flow at all with the album, and is one song I will skip every time. I do wonder, if he was going for the love record to hit the charts, I think he would of been better off going with a John Legend, a Frank Ocean or even a Trey Songz. Double M Genuis and Miami Nights are both solid songs. Double M Genuis displaying Wale's creative wordplay and Miami Nights as a smooth song about the boss, Rick Ross's hometown. The best songs on the album are Ambition, Legendary, Don't Hold Your Applause, Focused, DC or Nothing & the already mentioned That Way. Ambition is an epic song, it gave me the chills. With the features of MMG's Meek Mill & Rick Ross both adding great verses to the song and Wale's hook/chorus made the song saying "they gon love me for my ambition... easy to dream a dream, but much harder to live it". Legendary is 5 minutes worth of Wale spitting on one of the tightest, toughest beats I have ever heard. Don't Hold Your Applause was a suprisingly great song to open the album, and is going to be over-looked by the hip-hop audience. The collab of Wale & Kid Cudi on Focused was amazing. Cudi's voice takes over the song, and Wale really just has fun with this song. You can hear it in his voice. DC or Nothing is Wale's tribute to DC. The song opens up with some great instrumentals, and Wale's lyrics are on point, but the chorus/sample kinda ruins the song. Overall Ambition was a good album. One of the better of the year. 6 or 7 standout songs, along with a handful of solid songs, with a one or two songs to skip. #Ambition

One Of A Kind. In my opinion this album gets a 5/5. Wale's style of rapping is certainly a new feel in the Rap/Hip-Hop industry. His play of words and the flow is one of a kind... Specially his choice of instrumentals for his tracks differs from a "regular" type of modern rap. If you listen to his lyrics it's not just money (in which most topics are about these days) but also his life experiences ("Ambition" and "Don't Hold Your Applause") and his affections for women ("Lotus Flower Bomb" an "Illest Bi***"). No matter how you look at it, its a nice change of pace to these new hardcore tracks flooding the industry, not that Im saying that this album doesn't go hard, in which it does. Seeing its current album sales, it should be more than what it currently is because this is one of those albums that needs more recognition. So, GO GET IT! Its a 5/5 Stars!
