A Collage of Smooth Sounds. John Digweed's second installment of the Structure series to me was better than his first. The mixes contained in this release are solid. The sounds blend harmoniously to create a fairly colorful landscape. I do agree with the other comments that the track selection is generally excellent, there one or two tracks that I thought were just "there," but in general each track meshed and melded together well, and there was enough variation to separate each track, making them distinct from one another. To me, the ideas in the music and the mix were some of the better ones I've heard lately, and as I've mentioned in other reviews written, I like it when there is a bit of a story to the mix, in a way to make me think about the ideas musically that are going into the mix. I would agree as well that the John Digweed of old is retired. I too was a loyal Twilo follower and listener of Sasha and Digweed from the early 1990s, even remembering sets at the Hacienda and later at Heaven. But I can also appreciate the needs for artists to explore new areas and grow in their own way. To me Digweed's later releases, including this release, are more swirling and surreal in a way, at least to my ear, and not as driving as earlier works. But overall, Structures 2 has its throwback style moments, mixed with new direction. Ultimately, this is a solid release that is worth more than a single listen.

its good when you want to fall asleep. good selections of songs for a album that will make you fall asleep faster. unfortunatelly nothing like he used to do. i think he is getting old:(

Best album since Communicate. Just wow.. This is the format and structure that I have grown accustomed to for Digweed. I know that's cheesy considering the title of the album but I'm truly impressed with this compilation. The style here reminds me of the format that Sasha and Diggers used on the album Communicate. (Easily my favorite album of all time.) Expect a nice chill journey on the first mix and then as you get into the second, get ready for the night out on the town. :-) Highly recommended here, don't sleep on this one!!!
