Battlestations by Wham! Song Lyrics

You ask too much of me
You try my patience
Your tongue - it's like a razor
You choose your words like weapons
Here we go - Battlestations

I never have the guts to let you look inside

I don't think you'd appreciate the things that I hide

[CHORUS:]

Monday was the worst day

And Friday wasn't my day

But Wednesday was the best day

Because on Wednesday night we made love

All I'm trying to give you is a good time honey

Why d'ya have to keep on playing games with my head

Used to be your baby when you had no money

Now we spend more time in battle

Than we ever do in bed

(Than we ever do in bed)

You don't know how much I hate that answer phone

Are you standing there?

But - you won't pick up the 'phone

Why lie to my face?

(When you can buy a tape machine to give me bullshit in your place)

Today I did something I thought I'd never do

I opened up your diary and read about you

[CHORUS]

Monday was the worst day

Wednesday we made love

And Friday - ooh but -

Saturday, is today, is what I'm thinking of

Come in baby- come in close

(Take off your designer clothes)

'Cos you know what I'm thinking of

Do you remember me, do you remember us -

Do you remember love?

All I'm trying to give you is a good time honey

Why d'ya have to keep on playing games with my head

Used to be your baby when you had no money

Now we spend more time in battle

Than we ever do in bed

(Than we ever do in bed)

La premiere fois tu m'as fait beaucoup rire

Tu etais si mignon, et tu jouais du piano

Maintenant, mon mellieur ami c'est l'argent

Au revoir, cheri

Au

Love this Album. Had this album on tape deck and played this in PR. Got me thru the days and I've been looking for this for a long time. So very happy that I downloaded this.

the 80`s were cool. when this album first came out , the dance tracks were on side hot and the ballads were on the cool side george was getting to break away from wham to do the solo thing good run till the older album came out then he lost me

My First Cassette for My First Walkman. I have to give this 5 stars. It was my first tape to go with my first off-brand walkman for my 10th birthday, bought at the brand-new Target or maybe at Sam Goody or The Wherehouse. I probably wore it out from listening to it nonstop on auto-reverse. I hadn't even though of this album in maybe 25 years, but I remember having tweeny heartbreak at all the songs, especially "A Different Corner". So very sad I never got to see the legend while he was alive. RIP forever George Michael, you were my first and best queer-crush and big-haired fashion icon.

Underrated Album. Honestly I only got this album for "Last Christmas." But most recently I started to listing to the whole CD and it's fantastic. My favorite tracks are "Last Christmas", "The Edge of Heaven" and espically "Blue." "Blue" is one of the most underrated George Michael songs, but it's such fantastic catchy tune that puts a smile on my face. Anyway I would recommend getting the whole album because it's just a great listen.

bob marly. i love last christmas because i herd it in school and it was awesome
