These guys were much older than me and the subject matter didn't hit home until I myself became a man. To go back and listen to the album, you gain a new appreciation for their genius and just how influential their music is and was. Its music like this that really expanded my musical horizons. As I grew older I became more and more dissilusioned with what was being passed off as Hip Hop. Music like this and the samples it contained lead me in all sorts of directions. So much so that when I got back around to listening to this album again I appreciated it even more. This album is a milestone, a high water mark in Hip Hop and any Hip Hop lover must have this in their library.
