Smile Song Lyrics
Smile by Pearl Jam Song Lyrics
Don't it make you smile?
Don't it make you smile?
When the sun don't shine? (It don't shine at all)
Don't it make you smile?
Don't it make you smile?
Don't you make me smile?
When the sun don't shine, it don't shine at all

Look into the messages here. “Using all my Listerine like Ovaltine.” That lyric from “Mankind” could sum up the public reaction to No Code – a challenge to understand. From the crazed imagery of Eddie Vedder being stalked in “Lukin” to finding inner peace on “In My Tree.” The music drives the visions set forth from the lyrics. You feel frenzied and stalked. And you can see over the treetops bursting with the vigour of life. No Code is as solid a collection of music as any from Pearl Jam. The guitar influence of Neil Young can be felt on “Red Mosquito.” Pearl Jam stood in for Young’s back up band Crazy Horse on his Mirror Ball CD. A kindred sentiment to “In My Tree” is “Present Tense.” With its sparse yet striking guitar sound, the yarn spun by Vedder is as good a story as can be told without crossing into the realm of cheesy or cliché. All told the sound is of a mature Pearl Jam that grew up and not necessarily away from its early 90’s grungy flannel beginnings. No Code is not to be overlooked – the cover art and liner notes are worth the cost alone. Ooops, you'd have to buy the actual CD for that...
Classic album!. This is what I refer to as a sleeper classic! Highly underrated record but ultimately a sheer masterpiece in the bands catalogue.
