a must have, if you have ears.. This Holiday Life has been one of my very favorite bands for years now, my first cd ever bought by them was their EP, "The Fallout", the one sold through iTunes. I'm not recommending you purchase this album because i think it contains beautiful lyrics and incredible music, no. I'm not writing this review to compliment the band and how much i adore them. I'm writing this review solely so that you may see what i see in this band, and purchase this album. Song like "Motions" and "Photographs" just put me in a good mood, and though i may be biased due to the slight obsession i have for this music, the fact that you will love this cd is something i can guarantee. also, keep a look out on iTunes for their new cd, "The Beginning of the End of the World"!!

One of San Diego's Best!!!. I've been a fan of THL for a few years now, they're definitely one of the best indie rock bands around and they deserve way more attention than they get. This album is incredible and really defines their unique style. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes rock music that is unique and creative, but still has a lot of energy and great melodies.

This Holiday Life. This is definately a band worth looking into. They have close ties with such bands as Switchfoot and Copeland. They are fun, fresh, and extremely talented. Don't Stand Up is catchy and has a new sound in a genre where repeptition is common place. I found out about these guys from their podcast and highly suggest that you subscribe to it for some laughs and to get to know the band a bit better.

Goes Well With: Coldplay, Travis, Pinback All those black-garb-wearin’ trendroids that curse pop music for ruining their mope party are going to hate the newest by these North County boys. Boo hoo hoo. Take heed, naysayer. As Natalie Portman told us not long ago in that nifty indie flick that made The Shins famous, jangly pop gems can save your mortal soul. Friction is all about weepy guitar-and-keyboard atmospherics and hooks that sneak up on you, lazing about as This Holiday Life likes to let them do. In not shying away from the straight-forward, the band has created an unflappably spot-on album. The wheel will still be round after it’s done playing, but you’ll sure feel more romantic about it. “Motions” swells and retreats in fits of intricate introspection. Scott Anderson’s moody vocals (à la Coldplay’s Chris Martin) on “Aeroplanes” melt into a tuneful rush of hooks. With their basic version of beauty, they make pop music sound like first love. And the light-loafered buoyancy of Friction points to an unpretentious and unfailingly bright future for the band.

WORTH BUYING. Almost al the songs on this CD are pretty good. THere are some that aren't that good. But, the othe rones are so good, it makes up for it.BUY THIS CD!!!
