Masterpiece-best album yet!. Tdwp Y U So Amazing! Y U Never Fail!? What iz secret!? ;)

Great Album. This is a great album, although it took a little while for it to grow on me. TDWP has progressed. Mike does sound different. Who cares. It adds a good vibe to the album. If the album sounded too similar to plauges or earlier albums you people who gave this album only 1 star would complain about there being "no change." TDWP continues to add a sense of originality to this genre and I highly recommend this album.

im not afraid to say it. while yes, they may have progressed. but to me they have strayed away from the things that make them TDWP. look back to Dogs can grow beards all over and tell me the old stuff isn't better than this album….sorry….but i think this is a step back

Great album!!. This is different from their past releases. But highly enjoyable.

band with a chick flicks name. Don't get it sounds like a punch of sissies trying to be heavy. New metal is as bad as it was with glam rock in the 80s

TDWP. I love this band, personally. And some people are saying Mike's voice is fading. I don't see it or even hear it. It sounds great and I love the band and this album. Definitely hooked on it and The Amity Affliction as well as Upon This Dawning 😊

Good. Compared to everything before this by them, it's not the best. Some of it may be the mixing, but idk. But compared to other stuff out there, it's still pretty good.

8:18. Devil Wears Prada so sick

Obsessed. I can't stop listening to the whole album. Every song is amazing. The best album by them so far.

different sound. I think TDWP should do a heavy album with singing instead of screaming, it would be interesting to see how it goes

Incendiary.. Incredible instrumentals, amazing lyrics and like always, Mike's vocals are perfect. Great album.

:). Another great album!

amazing!!. all these songs are outstanding! my favorite is probably war or number eleven

beautiful. it's so different from their previous albums that i can't even begin to review it, however I do have one thing to say about it... AWESOME!!!!

One of their best works. Mikes vocals really are unique. I believe this albums is far better than their previous release dead throne. Mikes vocals add so well to the atmosphere. I'm not a professional reviewer but this album is great. Of course I'm still a fan of their earlier works. Dear love being their most unique and different sounding album in my opinion, but of course that was their debut. I think this album and with roots are tied in my opinion. Love everything tdwp releases

Vocalization. Just wanted to let everyone know, Mike said in a studio update or interview that his screams are not plunging downwards, the strains and out of noteness are intentional to emphasize the emotion and meaning of the lyrics.

Amazed. TDWP was the first band of this type of music. I have loved them since day one. I have now have listened to them for about six years now. This is the only band I actually know every song from start to finish by heart. 8:18 is a amazing album. I can't stop listening to it. It is written just perfectly. I respect all music, and all musicians, but some musicians force new music. They will write a new album but only a few songs are good. That's just my opinion, I could be dead wrong but With TDWP I feel like nothing is really forced. When they release something it's because they believe they are ready for it. I feel 8:18 flows every smoothly, nothing is forced.

Stellar. This album is amazing. I dont know why there are people criticizing this project. Youre either a hater or never was a true fan. If thats the case then you shouldnt speak because you dont know how much work and effort was put into this album. TDWP

Perfect album.. After listening to this album many, many times, I've decided that this is their best album. The lyrics are diverse and make you think. I think TDWP focused more making passionate music rather than just heavy breakdowns and it's beautiful. 8:18 will definitely not be their most popular, but it's definitely the most honest, raw, and complex material i've heard from them. Buy it. Listen to it. You won't regret it.

Awesome.. Love how they always find little ways to make each album sound different. You can tell how much they've progressed through each album also it's amazing. Love 8:18.

For those hating on Mike.. His vocals are fine. Try doing this for 8+ years and see how you sound. They fit the sound of this album with the forcefulness. And for those saying TDWP should replace him! It wouldn't be TDWP without him. All of the members are what make the band, to replace any of them and it wouldn't be the same. TDWP keep it up! You guys do amazing work on your albums and live shows!

Amazing from start to finish. Everything that a prada fan wants. Breakdowns, two step, good synth, amazing cleans and mellow songs. This album has so much emotion. Mikes voice is raw and still has power. I for one am a happy camper.

Fantastic Album. i waited until i listened to the entire album before i wrote this. the official verdict is out, this is completly on par with everything theyve produced up to date. most bands go down hill over time, but TDWP stays with it. im amazed! oh and btw if you think mike is losing his voice you just wrong, clearly you dont listen to them enough. i just saw them live and he still screams same as he did 5 years ago.

Just not the same. I've gotta say, I'm a little sad about these newer albums. With TDWP's first three albums there's so much passion and the screams are intense and they use more death growls. Zombie EP is one of my favorite albums but you can hear the change coming. Then with Dead Throne the difference is apparent. Mike's screams just aren't the same and you can tell his voice is on the down and out. If it's just a change in sound then I'd wish they would go back to their early style with albums like Plague and songs like "Modify the Pronunciation" or "And the Sentence Trails on..." It's an ok album but their first ones are what do it for me.

Losing it. Mike's voice is fading. This album is really lacking. You could tell they were going downhill after dead throne. I miss zombies TDWP. I'll still listen to it anyways cause i love TDWP too much.

Too much change recently.... It's a good album and I love TDWP don't get me wrong, but could we please go back to the sound of With Roots Above and Branches Below?

Unfortunate. Its sad to hear such a great screamer like Mike start to lose his voice. You can hear it in some songs like "war". If hes doing it on purpose I dont buy it. It's an OK album but I was hoping thay'ed have harder tracks like "mammoth" back from Dead Throne.

Best album yet. TDWP has come along way and I have to say this is their best album yet love first sight and gloom

If It Weren't for Mike's Awful Screams.... ...Then I'd be super stoked for this. Because, musically speaking, what I've heard sounds really solid. But then Mike's screams just get it the way and ruin it for me. They need to find someone new, all he's doing is continually losing his voice with each consecutive album.

Awesome Music. These are awesome from the first to this present, they always make good music. No matter what people say about the way they write songs, titles or how they sound. I think it's perfection, and hope in the Word of Truth is awesome! There aren't alot of Christian bands that will stick to the faith, I see it with bands like this, Doom, Sleeping Giant and others. I love it.

Amazing album.. In my opinion, I would say this album is TDWP's best album to date. I love everything about this album.

Artistic Raw Beauty. After going through a maturing sound of Dead Throne, TDWP enters into the perfect mix of their new sound with roots of older material most notably with the synth. Lyrically couldn't ask for more, raw genuine vocals and near perfection on instruments. The must have album of the year.

Amazing perfect. This cd is so inspirational and will always be one of my favorite tdwp cds, amazing I loved it.

New Sound!. This album shows that TDWP is willing to work with change and a different feel to their music. And it just happens it turned out very well. No, it doesn't in my opinion, top their With Roots Above and Branches Below album, but it is a welcome new album. It grabs the melancholy feelings and embraces them amazingly. Admittedly, Mike Hranica's vocals are different, as usual. Either you love them or you hate them. I won't go into that part of it, because that's all about opinion. In general, this album is spot on! It may push away old fans, but it will definetely appeal to a large group of old fans and new fans alike. Favorite Songs: Home For Grave, Gloom, War, and Martyrs.

Best Album by Far. Yes, their previous albums are insanely great. But given that they have aged and progressed in the last 10 years. They've definitely were able to keep their style but added to it to fit into today's industry. They have managed to make another great album. I love how each album has its own vibe. Mikes screams + Jeremy's voice = brutal

Very good. These guys have really pushed forward with 8:18. Super impressive. 👍

favorite album of the year. amazing album. definitely a 5 star album.

Honestly best TDWP Album. Like the title says my opinion says it's the best, I wasn't lying! It really is I definitely recommend buying this! They have gotten better with everything they did in this album really progressing!

Boring. They just keep getting worse. C'mon u guys what happened? Good thing iTunes labeled them as alternative, this isn't metal. And if mike is doing the strains on purpose he could realize many don't like them and stop, but he can't. His vocals aren't good anymore and TDWP just keep downgrading.

Been over a year, still my favorite. IMO: TDWPs best album, favorite album in general. Major grower album, don't brush it off based on a skim through. Every note and lyric is amazing, the synth really grows on you too. It's so different. Also, Mikes voice isn't bad, it's different but not bad, and it fits perfectly with 8:18, can't imagine plagues screams sounding good on 8:18.

❤️. ❤️

Beautiful. These guys have been my favorite band for years and years and have been a huge inspiration to me. The album did not let me down at all. It's dark, it's heavy, and they have matured so much as people and musicians. Mike's screams reflect what he does live. I don't think they're plunging downward, and Jeremy has always been an amazing singer. Over all I think some of these songs are some of their best ever. Definitely worth buying.

Very Niiice. Bought the album been listening to it for a few days now and I would say my favorite song is Gloom. (NO END TO MY BURNING!!) Next best song in my opinion is sailor's prayer, it has a lot of catchiness to it. My least favorite song might be Martyrs it just sounds very average to me, but the next 5 songs Herencia just unloads so much more intensity in his singing then he does in the first half of the album which was more slower songs, although still good. I do hope that for their next album they will mix it up a little more maybe feature a guest vocalist someone to do more cleans and add some more keyboards it seems they are lacking in some songs

Amazing!. Their music is a work of art! TDWP never disappoints! Plus, their insane live!!!!

Miss the old vocals but still an amazing album.. For a band that has quietly been around for nearly a decade now, The Devil Wears Prada will never dwell on its past. Flat out refusing to play songs from its first two full lengths (2005’s Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord and 2007’s Plagues, both released on Rise Records), the band has always puts itself in a position to reimagine who they are as a band. The results have been stellar, beginning with 2009’s With Roots Above and Branches Below, progressing through the peculiar-yet-pummeling Zombie EP and, most recently and most notably, 2011’s incredible, career-changing Dead Throne. Each of those three releases has featured the band doing things they’d never done before, whether it was Jeremy DePoyster’s vocals solely gracing “Louder Than Thunder” on With Roots, putting the band’s well-documented Christian beliefs on the backburner throughout Zombie, or perhaps their most daring creative decision yet: the crushing, powerful instrumental track “Kansas” in the middle of Dead Throne. At least over the last four years, The Devil Wears Prada has never been the type of band to rest upon its laurels. They’re much more interested in advancing as musicians, refining their art, and keeping things fresh for those fearless enough to come along for the ride. Much like its predecessors, the band’s fifth full-length 8:18 follows suit in pushing the band’s creative scope outward, and providing another side to take in the argument of which work is the band’s best. And it begins with an eerie synth arrangement provided by Jon Gering, the band’s new synth-op. Gering replaces the beloved James Baney, an essential cog in the machine of the band’s live sets. Gering’s synth contributions aren’t as in-your-face as Baney’s were, as he (and the band) opt for the synths and keys to provide more of a backdrop for the guitars of Chris Rubey and DePoyster, the bass of Andy Trick, and Daniel Williams’ drums. Gering’s contribution to 8:18 will likely not be talked about as much as the performances around him, but he certainly deserves credit for filling in successfully for a fan favorite, and finding a way to make his own impact on the band’s music, especially on “Care More” (which is his moment to shine), the album’s title track, and “Black and Blue.” Rubey’s guitar work has always been a key contributor to The Devil Wears Prada’s appeal, and it’s no different this time around. In fact, Rubey’s guitar work is the most wide-ranging, from chugging introduction to “Rumors” to anthem-ready “War,” while taking a more subdued tone on tracks like “Care More” and the introduction to album closer “In Heart.” Rubey’s continued experimentation and expansion of his arsenal is one of the key reasons for the band’s progression through is past few releases, and on 8:18, Rubey propels the band to a level where they can make any sound work, from melodic, back to heavy, or somewhere in between. The vocal tandem of DePoyster and frontman Mike Hranica has always been an interesting line for the band to straddle, as they’ve seemed to struggle at times involving both vocalists in the right dosages. There was a bit of a breakthrough on Dead Throne, where no song felt like DePoyster’s parts were forced in the middle of Hranica’s bellowing (a flaw Plagues fell victim to far too often). Here, though, the two not only maintain the balance they’ve found, but both vocalists have improved their range and delivery considerably. DePoyster’s vocals, often left for Autotune to handle, have typically been seen as the light in the darkness of Hranica’s screams. On 8:18, however, DePoyster joins the frontman in the darkness, utilizing a harsher, more visceral vocal delivery that comes off harsh, wounded, and even more emotional. DePoyster provides several choruses throughout the album, most notably on “First Sight” and “Black and Blue,” that not only emphasize the pain Hranica relays in his lyrics, but adds another level of depth to the darkness the lyrics so heavily focus on. For a great deal of listeners, Hranica’s vocals and lyrics will always be the benchmark used to measure the quality of any TDWP album, and while that thinking horribly devalues the masterful performances of the band around him, Hranica has delivered his darkest, most vulnerable set of lyrics yet. The years of screaming has unmistakably taken a toll on his voice, but rather than using that sort of deterioration as a hindrance, Hranica pushes forward with brute force, and the result is a series of haunting bellows, harsh, shrieking screams and, new this time around, a bit more, all of which sound more battered and weary, which actually helps the overall feeling of the songs. The cracks and “flaws” in Hranica’s voice are still digestible, and the strain in his vocals go a long way to showing the emotional toll these musings have taken on the frontman. With yet another sonic evolution unleashed, The Devil Wears Prada has come a long way from nearly being dismissed as just another Warped-core band signed to Rise Records. Their material only seems to be getting darker and more technical, and the industrial metal influences add a new element to the mix that the band are clearly talented enough to fuse with their signature metalcore sound. There are scenes of hardcore, punk, and post-hardcore/screamo as well, making 8:18 an album that will keep The Devil Wears Prada firmly in the forefront of metalcore. Taking its name from a passage from the Book of Romans that reads, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us,” 8:18 is an album that shows that the previous sufferings of The Devil Wears Prada have resulted in the glory of becoming one of the most forward-thinking and talented bands in today’s metalcore. In a scene where we’ve lost Underoath and The Chariot in the same calendar year, there is a seat at the head of the table is opened, and no band has made a stronger case to take that seat than The Devil Wears Prada.

Terrible. They used to be so good. Simple as that.

TDWP FTW!!!!!. God is truly moving through this band. This album has deep messages about following Christ. However, TDWP really makes this album pleasurable for everyone.

Wow. This band just keeps getting better and better. Gloom is one of the best on the album.

Progression to a new style of metalcore. Best album

Excellent. Great choruses by jeremy depoyster.

I'd buy the iTunes samples. I'd buy the iTunes samples. The whole album is like a bonus.

AWESOME But.... Why is it classed as Alternative? Shouldn't it be classed as Rock/ Metal?

so much win. seriously just so much win

Best album ever. Sooooo proud of these guys!! fantastic album!! preorder now!! Gloom, IN heart and Sailors prair are amazing songs!!!

Amazing :). Can't wait for this album to come out! After hearing it streamed must say this band never let's me down :) gloom, rumors and number eleven are sick! Preorder if you haven't yet on itunes!

fantastic. It's a great album, way more raw and heavy than their older albums. I recommend this album 100%.

Itsprettygood. Tookme a couple of listens through but after that its a pretty good album, not there best, but pretty good

Sounds like Underoath. At first listening it really sound like Underoath

Buy This!!. Amazing album by an amazing band. They have matured so much in their sound, and Mike is a beast!

Garbage. This album is terrible every time a song comes on a wish i never bought this album

Amazing!. They really made great songs and you can see the difference between the Dead Throne album and 8:18 that they really matured, and the lyrics are very powerful!!! Go ahead, buy it! You won't make a mistake!!

Deserves no stars. Worst excuse for music ive ever heard. This band has gone from being my all time favorite to the worst band ive ever heard. I dont recomend this to anyone. if you want to hear good tdwp listen to roots above thats their best album.

Mikes Voice is Gone. It's kinda sad, when I was younger TDWP were a favourite band of mine. But slowly the vocals have gotten worse. Jeremy is still a great singer but Mike sounds like he over did it and now it just hurts.

Well. It's good, but if you didn't like Dead Throne, you won't appreciate it That much...

Don't think about pre-ordering this album, do it.. As a band, they're starting to mature a lot. After hearing Gloom, Martyrs and Home For Grave, i'm really excited for this album. You should pre-order this right now! Don't think, just do.

Amazing. Omg soo amazing

11/10!!!. Soo good. Phenomenal drum work, sweet singing, and everything just blends together to make an amazing TDWP sound!

Impressed. This might just be my favorite album from The Devil Wears Prada. When I initially heard the songs, I felt as though the album wasn't as good as Dead Throne. However, I would now say that 8:18 is just as good as Dead Throne, if not better. Favorite songs: War, 8:18, Home For Grave

Former Christian band.. No longer writing Christian songs…

Unreal!. This album is absolutely incredible!just when you are beginning to think that tdwp can't get any better, they go out and produce an unreal album like 8:18!

Their best yet. Prada have really outdone themselves again!

The Real TDWP. Amazing work guys, so pleased you've truly made it your own piece and put in the hard work. God bless.

TDWP 8:18. Amazing album, very different but fresh. an album i would recommend to anyone 5/5

AMAZING. WWWOOOOO I LOVE HOME FOR GRAVE

Awesome. Awesome cleans, awesome screams, awesome everything 5/5

Hello Sailor Says. I'm excited for the next album now. 8:18 is something I've been wanting to hear from any band for a while. TDWP have done a fine job.

8:18. Love it. TDWP Have matured...

Monstrous, honest and mature.. TDWP at their peak. A solid record.

Not angry just disappointed. I don't hate it but it just feels like something was missing. It doesn't have the feel of Zombies or dead thrones or even their earlier work. Maybe it will grow on me yet?

highlight of the year. breathtaking from start to finish

Perfect. Seriously outstanding !!!
