Masterpiece. When I got this album last year, as a huge BtBaM fan and having previously dubbed 'Colors' as 'one of the greatest works of art ever created,' I thought Parallax II would be a great album.... It turned out being better than 'Colors'. This review can be summed up in one statement: Parallax II: Future Sequence is my favorite album of all time. Enjoy.

Stunning Journey!. I love the album with all of my heart. I'm new to buying music digitally (all CDs up until now). It said I'd get a digital booklet when I bought the whole album. So...where is this booklet located? I bought from my iPod touch (Gen 4).

BTBAM. This is seriously my vote for album of the year!

Amazing. This album is absolutely amazing! I listen to this and can't tell where one song ends and the next begins (and in this case that's a good thing). You listen from first track to last and see this as being one of the masterpieces of metal! The flow is just superb and I have to listen to this album again and again, each time appreciating it more.

Flawless.... I don't think I have ever heard more of a masterpiece of music... This album incorporates bits from so many different genres and styles with the obvious underlying genre being prog metal. The lyrics are fantastic in the way they tell a story. This is the perfect concept record. A must buy if you are a BTBAM fan or just a metal fan I'm general.

meh.. Nothing happens on this album that they haven't already done. Entire sections of certain songs sound like recycled parts from other albums. Colors was so great. Silent Circus was so great. Something changed in the production after Colors. The guitars got thinner somehow and the vocals got changed as well. I dislike the production after Colors, and this is no exception. They are operating out of formula now, songwriting wise, and it's gotten boring.

Awesome. I've not had an album grow on me like this one since tool came out. Very very talented musicians.

Read the lyrics. As an instrumentalist myself, I often find it hard to listen past the sound of a record. However, when sound and meaning is properly met by pen and tongue all musical properties double, nay, triple in value, in my opinion. And it is my opinion that when people starve themselves the deepest meanings of well pondered verses they deny true connection between the artists and themselves. Within parallax ii: future sequence, you will find each musical expression adeptly fixed to a fitting lyrical meaning that at some points may leave you crying out in an impulse of agreement, or weeping in speechless adulation. To disregard any aspect of this album would be, again, in my own opinion, one of the deepest regrets any metal/musical fanatic could ever later realize. Take the time you have and use it wisely. Listen, be enlightened; or the very least, be moved.

Everything by BTBAM is amazing!!!. This is the album that got me into BTBAM, since then I have listened to every album and they are all fantastic! BTBAM changed my life and are one of my favorite bands for a long time to come

Ohhh Yeaaaa. Fire it up, lay back, and prepare to be taken on a musical journey. This is prog metal at it's finest. Dare I say old school DT on steroids. This one was my first exposure to BTBAM and I look forward to working my way through the rest of their discory.

I mis THE REAL BTBAM. Hey BTBAM! Why don't you all start side projects and let BTBAM live. It's one thing to mature as a band, but it's another thing to become something completely different. I'm not going to sit here and say that there aren't any great parts on this album, but this is not you. You haven't been yourselves since Alaska. Please, please, PLEASE STOP being a progressive rock band with scattered blast beat sections. Is this a Rush/The Who cover band? I was a HUGE FAN of you guys. I remember being like one of 10 of your fans when you came to Cleveland in support of 'The Silent Circus' - a much better album. Yes, we are all aware of how talented you guys are and how technical you can be. You don't need to let proving your talent levels get in the way of your writing abilities. Hopefully, one day soon you will find yourselves again... What a huge disappointment.

Parallax. Had to come back and edit my review after another month or two of listening. Changed it from 3 stars to 5. This album is ridiculously well done.

Amazing. Just purchase it.

I listen from start to finish every time.. It's rare that I find a record I can listen through the entire thing without skipping a track here and there. Beautiful music sandwiched in between some hard metal. I love this band, always will. BUY this.

First BTBAM. Before this cd i had never listened to any Between the Buried and Me but was listening to Liquid Metal one afternoon and Telos came on. After hearing it I knew I had to get it and i picked it up day one. And it stayed in my cd player in my car for a few weeks and it just never got old. If i had to recommend one song to listen to it would be Bloom it just shows how diverse the band can really be.

Parallax II. I bought this album just last night and I'm really glad I did. Buying music feels so much better than stealing it! Support metal! Let's get metal to the top! From start to finish this record does not disappoint. It is phenomenal. Purchase it. You know you want to.

The best album. I've listened to this great band ever since Alaska, colors was a needed improvement on their sound, and i still enjoy the occasional listen when driving or at home. But every time i look at my album list Parallax 2 always calls to me. I've listened to this album ever since it came out and I'm still finding it mind-boggingly good. To think that they can improve on their sound over and over, they proved to me that the could. Give it a listen, and you'll want to make sure that what you heard was real. I had to make sure, about 5 different times on the song Telos, all of the songs are good, but that song stood out to me, the whole "Rebirth...Reborn" part is awsome. Silent Flight Parliment is another stand out, it feels like 3 songs in one, clocking in at over 15 mins (none of the song is filled with a void of nothingness, by the way), if they can find a way to top that song, then it'd be time to bow down our proggy metal gods and say "thank you!" If I'm still finding this album exciting, then they are doing something right and im digging it. Even if its eight months later. I'm not going to have any expectations for the next album. They already far surpassed them with this album. Flawless.

Took some time. I've loved BTBAM for some time and what i love most is that it gets so much better with repeated listens. With this new album I played it over and over 10 times before I finally wrapped my head around it. I was starting to think that maybe it was just a weak album with unmemorable songs but now it has really taken hold. I've probably played it in my car 30 times in a row now and it's like an unhealthy obsession. I can't stop playing it. It may be their best, better than Colors. And to think I almost took it out of the CD player thinking that it just wasn't good enough. Thank God I stuck with it.

Garbage. I cannot believe a band like this could even exist and god knows why the hell they are so popular. There is not a shred of creativity in this entire album.

72:33 of face melting. This album is so so good. Start to finish it is an incredible listen. Tommy, Paul, Dustie, Dan, and Blake are all masters in their respective crafts, and there are truly mind-blowing examples throughout. No matter your instrument, one of these guys should be your idol.

At the top. Hands down my favorite band since I picked up their self titled album in 2002. I've stuck with these guys ever since then listening to them progress and mature as time went on into what they are today, which is nothing short of a powerhouse band releasing their best outing to date. All of the experience and insight they have gained on prog metal accumulates here in more ways then I care to describe, do yourself a favor and pick it up.

Find the full album. The full album is without a doubt worth your attention. the 10 minute long songs missing here on iTunes are vital to the album and cannot be missed by one wanting the full effect of this album. Which is a freakily you dawug.

This is the best band ever!!!!. These dudes have done it again. They blew my mind. Best album since colors. Although the two before are still amazing. Quickly became my favorite BTBAM album. I've seen these dudes a dozen times live. Can't wait to see this miracle of musical art performed. Everything they do is way better than anyone else can do it. I'd listen to these guys play elevator music for hours. Because it would be the best elevator music EVER!!!!!!

BTBAM. I cried.

Best Album of All Time. This album is just outstanding. I love Colors but this one takes the cake for me. The music alone is great but once you read into the story it makes everything really come to life.

Amazing. Listen to the ep and then this album it's a masterpiece in its own right. If you look up the lyrics they are dialogue between a couple a characters. When I found that out it made me respect this band so much more

Potentially their new best album. BTBAM have come so far in the past decade and have still not disappointed me. As with everyone else Colors has been my favorite album for a very long time, they continue to improve on their own sound with every song they write, and I hope they continue that pattern for years to come. In a genre full of sub par bands that cannot compare to what these 5 guys can compose, they will never cease to amaze me. At first I was not as happy with this release as I hoped, but I didn't give it enough of a chance. Now, I rate this album up with Colors as quite possibly their best album to date. Do your self a favor and indulge in this band, completely.

Yes. As an long time listener, I initially fell out of these guys with the great misdirect and parallax I. I just didn't love them as others did, but this album definitely brought back my love for these guys. Can't wait to see them play it live tonight.

Masterpiece. This is simply the best metal album put out in the last couple of decades.

Real.. definitely way better than the great misdirect and parallax 1 combined!!

Oh my god. Ive been a huge BtBaM fan for a very long time. I know Every song by heart now. I never thought anything could beat Colors. It was where they really found their sound and it was a near perfect album. Then the Great Misdirect came out and i listened to it nonstop but something felt kind of off about it. Then i took a break from this kind of music. I listened to The Parallax EP and i was really dissapointed with it. I felt like they were losing it and i just decided to stick with my old favs. I had no clue this album came out till about a week after release and i figured I'd support them again and give them a chance. First time i listened, it felt off, i wasnt used to this type of music anymore. But then i decided to listen to the album nonstop on a 3 hour drive home. And oh my god, it reminded me of why I used to love them so much. This album is flawless, and i always have to listen to it all the way through. I dont know any of the names of the songs cause of it. It is like one extremely long song and i cant skip any of it. Ive lost count of how many times ive listened to this since. But it is all i listen to. Thank you BtBaM for making such a fantastic album. This now tops Colors on the best album they have ever made IMO.

Shyaaaa. I'd give this 10 stars if I could !

Great metal. Love BTBAM, this album is just more proof that metal lives on...

Music Defined.. Musicians...Who have perfected their instruments. All for the glory of the world to hear. Simply one of the greatest bands of our era. You will not be dissapointed.

Their best.. I bought this album the minute it came out. On my first listen, I sat and listened to this album all the way through. I have to say, I think it is their best. Btbam does a fantastic job of writing creative death metal, and adding their own favors to the music. Many of the other genre sections in this album do not feel random, like the hillbilly hoedown in ants of the sky or the southern stomp fest of disease injury madness. Rather, btbam evolves their personal sound even further than I thought possible. This album is purely unique and nothing is out of place. Like colors, this album is meant to be dynamic, and the band goes above and beyond yet again, defining themselves in a way I didn't think possible. This band will be known throughout history as one of the greatest progressive acts of musical history, like rush and dream theater. Future Sequence is btbam's best and most mature release in my opinion.

Another masterpiece.... I have known BTBAM since their inception. I was able to witness one of their first shows in PA in support of their self titled album. There was literally like 15 people in the crowd. I had never heard of them, but I did know and had seen some of the bands the members came from. Needless to say, I was captivated by their performance the first time and have been ever since. The song mordecai blew me away that day. Since then I have seen them live at least 20 times and witnessed them grow from venues with only 50 or so people to huge shows with thousands in attendance. They are truly a one of a kind act and immensely talented. Like all great bands do, they continue to re-invent themselves with every release. I have their entire discography, and when I heard the great misdirect I really thought they had reached their pinnacle. Once again, I was wrong and the parallax I is an amazing display of writing and technical mastery. The parallax II is a continuation of the thought and extremely well done. Do not be dismayed by what negative reviews you may read, this is a band for the ages. Sorry for those metal purists that don't want to hear prog mixed in, but BTBAM has always been about pushing the envelope of the genre. Keep up the great work guys!

BTBAM Strikes Again. Just saw them live last night. They played this album in its entirety plus a 15 minute encore song (White Walls from "Colors"). This album is awesome. Great progressiveness with a lot of well implemented influences from other genres. Plus it's a concept album and the story is great. The end of the album leaves me amazed and thinking about the album. Love it.

Great Record!. Love this record!.....first time I have ever written an iTunes review but I just wanted to say how much I love this. Amazing playing and a fantastic melting pot of styles. Great songwriting too. Combines the very best of contemporary metal and the depth of prog.

Amazing album. Been following these guys since Silent Circus and man has it been an epic ride!!! They never cease to amaze me. Every time I hear a new album I think, "there's NO WAY they can top this", but here we are... They've done it again! One of the best bands I've ever heard!!! Keep me coming!!

Fantastic. I've been listening to this non-stop for about 2 weeks now and still can't get enough. The video at the Fideltorium is superb. If you haven't checked it out, it's a must have. Great muscianship.

Move over colors. The scope of this record is beyond anything ever made. These guys have nailed down their sound and pushed the envelope beyond capacity with this album. If you like progressive metal def check this out... As an old fanboy of dreamtheater i can say that this album makes dt sound novice.

The Labyrinth Of Eclectic Journeys. when i first listened to this album, i hated it. i was supremely let down and didn't want to listen to it ever again. 4 months later it is my favorite Album and i'm STILL trying to wrap my head around it... yes people, it's that mind-blowingly complex/fun :) if you love music that completely pushes the proverbial boundaries, flying in every portal and vortex to give the most awesomely unique, different, sounds... then this album is a must for you. it takes many listens to "get" it. if i had to describe the record, i would say it sounds like a retro space-age carnival from the 60's... pretty absurd but SO awesome :) There truly is no band like them. they deserve to be the biggest band in the world.. don't take my word for it thought; take the journey yourself and prepare to go on a radical Journey :) ...Christ is King

Elite Status. Thomas Giles and crew are the musicians we need.

Wow. If you don't like epic music or you like just the generic breakdown metal band don't buy this. But if you're an open-minded, smart, sophisticated metal lover who delves into the musicianship of a band then buy it now and stop reading these reviews!

Wow!!!. I've been a BTBAM fan for several years now. I'm amazed at how they keep true to thier signature sound...yet expand and explore so much in each new release. This one is no exception. It is a bit more like Colors than the previous record, but with some improvements. Here each riff gets a little more repetittion. They fall into a groove longer, and it's great. There is actually more than five seconds before a change takes place, and often themes in the song come back later in a big way. This makes for a more immediately rewarding listen, without sacraficing the pure musicainaship and turn on a dime ability that BTBAM fans have come to love. Every aspect of the music is in top form here. My only complaint is that they fell into the trap of playing circus sounding stuff a bit on this record again. It's OK, but I'm done with it...and I hope that in future releases they will explore new territory, like the Persian sounding licks in "Astral Body" something new, cause even ppl who write circus music know that it's cheesy and not that great. Other than that little bit of nit-pickery, I say get this album. It's easily a classic. A must have for metal and proggerssive fans, (especially prog metal fans) and genearal listiners of great music.

Absolutely stunning!๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ. This album EASILY is tied with Colors for me, and is dangerously close to dethroning it as their premier masterpiece. BUY THIS ALBUM! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! DO IT NOW!!

Pure epicness.. I discovered BRBAM shortly after Colors came out, and I checked out their older stuff and have bought every album on release day since. They are by far my favorite band, I love the vastness of their musical style, and this album and The Paralax part one go together so perfectly. In my opinion, these albums together are the single (or double) greatest thing to ever be made in terms of music. Again, this is just my opinion, but even still, this is a wonderful album. Wish there were more bands out there like BTBAM.

Sounds like rush giving up on life.. This is sad. Sounds like 80s music done in a back ally with angry rush fans screaming about how bad it is.

BTBAM Never disappoint.. This album is definitely one of my favorites. The story it tells alongside with The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, is beautifully written and amazingly complicated. The music is astonishing. all the way from Paul and Dustie's intricate riffs to Blake's drumming, Dan's smooth bass, and Tommy's voice. Each song has its own personality. Among my favorites was Extremiphile Elite, but they're all good. Listen to the album.

I've always wondered. why BTBAM have insisted on writing eleven minute songs...especially since the average attention span of the fan of heavy music is barely over three minutes. their still a great band tho, even th o the proggyness of some of the songs is a little carried away. They were much better in the early years.
