The Pilgrim Soul by Boyd Deering

Boyd Deering presented this CD in 2005 after having worked professional theater for about a year. Noticing how audiences almost always loved well-played simple melodies much more than musician-oriented note jamming, Boyd took on the task of producing a concept recording project designed to take the listener on a musical pilgrimage through various musical styles. This became “The Pilgrim Soul”. Styles ranging from John Hartford to the Beatles, Billy Joel, and Sting integrate with folk, fiddle, original, country, old-time, and gospel music influences. Then to make the party even a bit more interesting, Boyd invited some Grammy Award winning world-class musician friends over to the studio such as Vassar Clements, Aaron Till, Leroy Troy, and Jim Wood for starters.
