Mr Tambourine Man. I grew up hearing my father singing Bob Dylan around the house throughout my childhood. I would tease him that he sang “old people songs” and he would promise me that one day I’d be asking to borrow his records. He was right. However, I do not have a record player, so I decided to get on here and purchase one of my favorite of his songs. I am not a Dylan expert, nor a Dylan fanatic, but I really love his music, and I’d like to think I appreciate the artistry it took to create it. So basically, this is my long-winded way of saying Dylan has influenced me, though not a much as some, I like his music so I am downloading some of it, I suggest you do the same, and and I also suggest you take the time to google the lyrics, because they are fascinating.

Does anyone here know this not only exists, but is borrowed by everyone after him.. Just another legendary album from Bob Dylan, something that perhaps is expected by Bob Dylan. A thing that people have known for years. But the availability of this online should have a new generation buying this album up. Or at least giving its fair appreciation by those who have treaded this path. I guess I'd call myself between two categories, but enough to know what has put many artists today on the map. It's always great to look back and remember such roots, but it is music, yes, good music at that. To learn something new about issues and music from the old music sure is possible on Dylan's records, and is great for entertainment and thought, rather than just a retrospect nostalgia.

Bringing It All Back Home. songs like gates of eden and It's Alright Ma were unrivaled at the time, and have never been near matched by any artist, john lennon,paul mccartney,mick jagger, keith richards,neil young,anybody.before any of these artists had there rebirth(lennon,mccartney) or even in the picture, bob dylan did it first and only.it still amazes me to this day what he has accomplished,after years of listening to it everyday i find new things ,realize new milestones in his music.i'll never get enough bob dylan.

Yes!. One of the best albums ever!

the "funnel" revealed. while I'm not a Dylan obsessive, I must admit, this is the album that all popular music was funneled through for the last part of the 20th century. No artist or group was unaffected, Beatles, Stones, much less a whole new idiom in "folk" music...shifted well beyond the pathos of Woody Guthrie. Quite simply, the finest troubadour of the last century.

Art. Bob was on fire when he wrote these songs and putting together this album. It feels like this album had to be made. This is when those who knew him best, could never come close to his world.

"In the jingle-jangle morning, I'll come followin you". March 1965 - Robert Zimmerman (Bob Dylan) puts out this album and basically changes modern music forever. If you didn't experience "THE SIXTIES" then you can play this record and learn pretty much everything you need to know. Maybe get "The Beatles Second Album" and Jimi Hendrix's first record and "Beggar's Banquet" by the Stones. (Oh, and "Live at Leeds" by The Who).

I want the original Album Artwork to show in iTunes.. Sure Dylans great, but I want the original Album Artwork to show in iTunes, not "Bob Dylan The Collection" black background album artwork. The collection artwork is not as interesting and is divorced from the history of the music. Is this just my idiosyncratic problem or do other users see this?

An explosion. It brings tears to my eyes whenever I try to describe Dylan's power as an artist, poet, songwriter, genius, and overall super being. This is one of the best albums from one of the best artists. It Slams you with lyrical waves, and emotional tornados. Enjoy

Bringing It All Back Home. One of the most important albums of all-time, this was the first record where Bob went electric. Though alienating himself from the folk music community and losing much of his original fanbase, he aquired many new fans and realized his dream of having a "Thin Wild Mercury" sound as he put it. Side one is all electric, with such classics as "Subterranean Homesick Blues", "Maggie's Farm" (a song announcing his removal from traditional folk music), and "Love Minus Zero/ No Limit". Side two is acoustic, and some of it's finest compositions include "Mr. Tambourine Man", the brilliant "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)", and "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue". This album may have paved the way for such classics as Highway 61 and Blonde On Blonde, but truthfully, it's just as good.

Dylan's Best. This is about as original as American "Folk-Rock," for lack of a better label, ever got, and that's saying something when one considers the creative explosion of the sixties, Not only was this groundbreaking, it's timeless. I recently played "It's Alright, Ma" for my 6th grade daughter and her friend, and they commented what a good poet Dylan is. He has never matched this masterpiece, but has come close enough to make several great LPs.

Excellent Album, Aggravating iTunes Review. This is a great album. It's one of Dylan's bests, which is really saying something when it comes to an artist like him. I am, however, very frustrated by the iTunes Review. I don't know what it will take to get certain people to realize that Bob Dylan is what he is and not what other people want him to be. He's not some champion of folk, and he's not a "topical" songwriter. He only shows allegiance to himself and his art. He wasn't "too articulate and insightful to give up folk," and he didn't "drag it with him into the future." I don't understand why people are still obsessed with somehow "finding the folk" in Dylan's work after he went electric. Folk is by far not the only genre where insight, subtlety and artistry can be found, and by no means should folk, or Bob Dylan's folk albums, be idealized (And don't get me wrong, I love his early stuff). I don't think he particularly cared about the fate of folk; for him, it was only a medium. For years, journalists, critics and pseudo-fans have tried to peg him, have tried to reduce him, but the truth is he can't be pegged. Free of artistic inhibitions, Bob Dylan consistently has found different ways of saying different things that have spoken to him at different times, and that's what makes him a true artist.

Amazing.. There is not one bad thing you can say about this album, besides that it ends.

Life-changing. This was one of the albums that literally changed my mind and my perspective when I first heard it as an young teen. You could say it radicalized me both musically (my family listened to a lot of folk) and socio-politically. Lyrically gripping, explosive and musically compelling, I agree that it is a total masterpiece. Play it for your kids when they're old enough to appreciate it and explain why it matters!

Absolutely fantastic. This is the first Bob Dylan album that I ever listened to, and I've been hooked ever since.

"Look Out; Kid!". .."Hang Around The Inkwell!"..Oh; The Changes In Popular Music To Come!-"Bringing It All Back Home" was nothing less than Revolutionary for the start of 1965!-Restless & Bored with being typecast as: "The Protest King" and "The Savior Of The Folk Music Tradition"; Bobby Dylan took a 360 degree turn towards "The South Side Of Chicago" and would soon Blow Many Minds at the Newport Folk Festival that Summer!-{Don't you think the rest of the Music World was listening in with both ears Wide Open?}-(The Acoustic; Highly Personal Lyrics would resonate greatly with John Lennon and George Harrison; Especially!)-And the Rocking/R&B/Blues Vibe would take hold of The Band and The Byrds!-"I Think I'll Call It America; I Said As We Hit Land!"-More "Blows Against The Empire" would emerge from "The Head From Hibbing!"-Dig This Again!...by Grimmbo.

He not busy being born is busy dying.. Bringing It All Back Home is arguably Bob Dylan's greatest record to date, though many would probably side with Highway 61 Revisited simply because it has Like a Rolling Stone. Don't get me wrong, Highway 61... is an amazing album, but, to me, it does not have the depth and diversity of Bringing It..., as it moves him fully into the electric rock world. I am not a Dylan fan who was upset by his move to electric, which is first catalogued here, but the balance of both acoustic and electric on this album gives it even more character. To get to the album itself, there are at least six of Dylan's greatest songs just on this album, with both powerful lyrics and captivating melodies: The upbeat Subterranean Homesick Blues, classics Maggie's Farm, It's All Over Now, Baby, Blue and Mr. Tambourine Man, as well as a deep Love Minus Zero/No Limit, and the moving and poetic It's Alright Ma(I'm Only Bleeding). Bringing It All Back Home showcases Bob Dylan's bewildering abilities to comprise songs which changed the world for the better.
