A great follow-up to Infinity. My only wish is that this album never included, "lovin' touchin' and squeezin." Not that it's a bad song. But i think it got the band focused too much on pleasing the dj's, which eventually drove gregg rolie -- and the true heart of the band -- away.

JOURNEY ROCKS. My kids are grown now in their 30's and still to this day they listen to Journey BLASTIN as I did when they were younger ridin in my car with me.They tell me that the legacey of Journey will carry on in their kids lives too which I am happy to hear.Theres nothing quite like listening to the good old songs with the great Steve Perry on lead vocals like it should be,I can't speak for everyone but theres no amount of money that I would pay to see Journey today,it's just not the same.Steve took JOURNEY to heights unimaginable to anyone at that time, wherever he is I hope he knows how much we love him and hope to see new material from him very soon.God Bless Steve Perry for such great memories in my life.

If you rate this any lower than 5, Grrrr. Read the title plz

this review is for the young kids. this Too was my first album, given to me by my brothers girlfriend at the time. The music in this cd is the best of its time. If you play.. or like guitar, bass, drums,or keyboards,or just love a good vocal singer. This cd is for you. After you buy this you will want to go back to the start, and get all the other journey cd's because they really rock..this is late night drivin music at its best. this music is raw and right in your face.

2006?!. An awesome album, but on my music app, it says it came out in 2006 when it came out in 1979. What’s up with that?

underrated journey. a great listen a couple of mad creation songs but overall thumbs up!! try city of the angles on 4 size and soak that one in don't know why that 1 wasnt a hit 2 get it !!

AMAZING. This album is great. It may not be as fantastic as E5C4P3 and Trial by Fire, but it definateky has it's own superior Journey sound. If you're not planning on buying the whole album, I would definately reccomend 'Sweet and Simple' and and 'Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. They seriously rock. The first has a note up in the Stratosphere and the latter is a masterpiece written solely by the amazing Steve Perry himself. You NEED this album!!!!

A SWEET AND SIMPLE MASTERPIECE!. Evolution probably one of Journey's finest works that often slips under the radar for some unknown reason. A perfect album is like a great book- it grabs your attention from the very first page and takes you on an epic emotional journey and then cleverly wraps up everything nicely at the end. Evolution is one of those albums. From Neal Schon's "Majestic" instrumental launch we know it's gonna be one heck of a ride. All band members are truly present here and like a fine tuned sports car is operating with precision and grace. Schon is on fire on "Too Late" and Steve Perry's voice is too good to be true and soars with melody and emotion. Neal Schon's tone here is fantastic and his playing is highy melodic and soulful. One the finest moments is on the tender blues ballad "Sweet and Simple", a song that alone is worth the price of admission and should have been a hit single as it's every bit as catchy and classic as "lights". The interplay of vocals on "Just the Same Way" is perfection and neal's guitar solo here is a song within the song that should not be missed by guitar players.

Great album. It is a shame that most people only recognize the radio hits from Journey. When you look back on their albums, there are plenty of great tracks that people would be enjoy even more than the hits. Sweet and Simple, Lovin You Is Easy and When You're Alone are just as good as the hits on this album.

Best Band Ever. Super sweet album!

Remastered. All of these iTunes Journey albums have been remastered with Arnel, nowhere does it state that and this is misrepresentation! I am angry!!!! Unacceptable if I wanted Journey with Arnel I would buy the new stuff! I wanted Steve Perry. I want my money back and "Journey Official" and iTunes need to let the public know these have been remasterd with Arnel's voice

Rockin' Album. This was my first exposure to Journey and I wore this album out the summer of my freshman year of high school. Great rock tracks before they got too "commercial" with albums like Escape. A must for any Journey fan!

Journey. I haven't heard the album but they have some of the coolist album covers!!

Booklet. You get a booklet when you buy a whole album I got the Journey Evaluation and did not get it how do you get it thank you

The one the only the original. Journey has its hits that we know them for but these songs are when journey was in its strongest, not its most popular but the Best.

Such an underrated album. This is probably one of the most underrated Journey albums (with Steve Perry). However, even though one song from this album was included on their greatest hits, all the songs on this album are great to rock to. My aunt had not heard "Do You Recall" in over 20 years until I played it for her! This is GREAT Journey! Also my dad's first journey record, so it's one of my favorites, too.

Yes they do.. The problem with this album is the fact that many of the album's songs sound the same. I do, however, think Steve Perry's voice neer sounded more polished and totally perfect than on this album. His vocal style changed on the album Frontiers and was lower and "fuller" from then on. Other than Perry's amazing vocal performance, this is my least favorate "mainstream" Journey album. It just seems like the songs are kind of "dead", you seem to say to yourself "Did I just hear that one a minute ago?" Key Tracks: "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'/City of the Angels" and the underrated "Do You Recall".

Top 5 album!. Yeah, I agree that the other two reviewers are morons. With the exception of sweet and simple and lovin you is easy, I love every song on this album and I dont think any of them sound the same. Every song here is solid but Id have to say that the best songs here are City of the Angels, Daydream, Do You Recall, and Lady Luck, which all seem to be way too underrated. Great album all around though. Buy it as soon as possible if you like Journey before Greg left and power ballads and synthesizers ran amouk.

Journey's greatest. I know you have the classics such as Don't Stop Believin' , Lights, Anyway You Want It etc but if you like great guitar, strong vocals, and just overall rockin' music......THIS ALBUM IS FOR YOU. My dad would listen to journey while i was growing up and i always seemed to have a like for it and now at the age of 16 Journey is my favorite band. i could listen to a journey song for the first time and fall in love with it! JOURNEY IS AMAZING

Excellent. The best of the Perry/Rollie era

Essential Journey at its Best. Though not as commercially successful as later albums, This album is a subtle example of the evolution of the post-santana, san francisco rock sound. The production is flawless with the instrumentation and vocals sitting perfectly in the mix. Listen to tracks like "Sweet and Simple" and compare to the often over-produced sound of later albums. Perry's vocals do not need treatments (reverberation, chorusing). Simple, plaintive vocals and real harmonizing make this album a gem!
