New music is always good!. I've been a Journey fan for years as I've always loved their melodies and the ripping guitar solo's. So hearing new music from this band is always welcome in my books. Having giving this release a few listens, it certainly has that Journey sound and fell to it. Arnel Pineda continues to do his thing and has been a great singer for Journey since he came onboard. Neal as always delivers some great guitar riffs as one would expect. So why the three star rating? Well although it sounds like Journey, it's missing something and that something is truly catchy tunes. Yes the songs are nice and flow beautifully, but where's the "WOW" factor? Again it's a nice release and I'm glad their decided to make some new music, but it wont blow you away which is a little disappointing. Overall though, if you like Journey, I'd say it is a keeper as it is after all, new music from an iconic band.

They stick to their lane!. While Journey have always released good music, but they don’t bring anything new to the table! Sure it sounds like Journey,and many of the “new” songs sound like some of their classic tracks of when they were at the top of the charts! There’s nothing wrong with what the band is doing, they know what their fans want, and they give it to them, look at their latest vocalist Arnel Pineda, the way they found him on YouTube? Was nothing short of spectacular! And his eerie voice that sounds like original frontman Steve Perry, sure he can hit those notes, while in good health, cause like all singers that sing in that high register? They cannot keep doing it night after night, without the diminishing returns that ultimately happens! But for now? And possibly till the end of the bands lifespan? I see nothing changing? whether its good or bad depends on what the fans say!
