On this album, top to bottom -every song is a winner. here jj adds a good dose of mariachi band backup to his already solid group of friends who usually comprise his stawart band. . the effect is lively.and dare it be said - yup, folks, down right cheerful-ah-in a sentimental way, of course. i f you like jerry jeff walker you will like this and you may like it even if he's not your bag there is alot of brass in this album and unhtil you hear this you wont believe how good mariachi brass combined with country rock can sdound.. walker has posibly the best "yell" in all of rockdom and the track 'lone wolf" will make you guys feel like bayin at the moon-if you go for that sort of thing. this is modern cowboy stuff and you have to be able to yell to be head over the cattle stampede now replaced by the growl of big v-twin motercycles.
