One of the rising-stars in the electronic medium.. "Dawn Treader" marks the fifth-installment for Chronotope Project [aka: Jeffrey Ericson Allen]. On this outing; the artist weaves a tapestry of exotic sounds, and cineamatic depth. This one has more of a 'New Age' mystique to it, and less, of an over-all droning ambiance. The title to this project has a lot of connotations, but I envision a nomad, negotiating a treeless tundra, in any possible past, or future-world scenario. The compositions have enough changes in texture, and percussive sound to hold the listener's interest. There's a lot of Arkenstonian-type influences used here to good advantage. 'Canticle of the Stars' is a nicely crafted piece, and one of the CD's highlight tracks. Allen is definitely one of the 'rising-stars' on the electronic music scene to watch, and this one puts him firmly on the map with artists like: Csillagkod, Jon Jenkins, Michael Neil, Mark Dwane, and Erik Wollo. This should appeal to any fans of those artists named. If your have any of Chronotope Project's back catalogue offerings, then this purchase, should be an easy decision.
