Ugh.. Good gravy. Like seeing someone dig up your relatives and parade them around in new clothing. Absolutely atrocious. You cannot, cannot improve on perfection, and no other album brings this home harder than this travesty. Gone is the unique Lynne sound, the lush arrangements, the organic synth sounds. Utterly soulless. Run as fast and as far away as you can.

Only one good song?. Listen to Todd Rundgren's version of Bluebird is Dead--its spectacular (still like the original better obviously). Other than that-- don't even bother--just get the real stuff. Above the clouds is my favorite elo song but they literally BUTCHER it on here. Still Get Todds version its great!

Total trash. I can't believe they took perfectly good ELO songs and murdered them. I hope Jeff Lynne never hears this album, if I could give zero stars I would.

Just the "right" notes. It's great that syndicated columnist and conservative commentator Pat Buchanan FINALLY recorded his version of "Rockaria". It's really unexpected, but only if you don't know his devotion to the Idle Race-Move-ELO oeuvre.

An Insulting, Yet Amusing, Tribute to Jeff Lynne. For those who do not already know, Jeff Lynne is a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who has worked with numerous bands, most notably The Move, The Traveling Wilburys, The Idle Race, and Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). Lynne Me Your Ears, supposedly a tribute to Jeff Lynne, is an atrocious collection of covers of songs by the afore-mentioned bands. While insulting, you may find Lynne Me Your Ears amusing on some levels, because of the hideous musicianship and arrangements. Standout tracks on this album, in terms of humor, are Tony Visconti's "Mr. Blue Sky", Carl Wayne's "Steppin' Out", Doug Powell's "Can't Get It Out of My Head", Roger Klug's "Turn to Stone", and Swag's "Don't Bring Me Down". If you are a fan of Jeff Lynne's music, specifically that of ELO, you must think twice before purchasing. If you are not familiar with Jeff Lynne's material, try listening to the previews or the entire album elsewhere, just for a laugh.
