Great pop album ever. Love at first sight

A great album in its original incarnation. I like every song on this album, but also the beginning-to-end continuity: it works as a cohesive unit. I like the additional tracks included. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because I much prefer the original album version of "Come Into My World." This whispier lead vocal for the single mix doesn't cut it for me, never did.

Great album, terrible remixes. "Fever" was really the album that re-introduced Kylie to the United States after her brief, minor success with "Kylie" in the late '80s. She'd already begun to define herself as a grown-up artist (as opposed to a teeny-bopper actress singing on the side) with "Impossible Princess" and "Light Years" (the latter is another of my favorite Kylie albums, but it didn't break into the charts over here at the time it was released), but "Fever," with the addictively smooth "Can't Get You Out of My Head," established Kylie a household name on this side of the pond. Several other singles from the album have become staples for Kylie fans, including "In Your Eyes," "Love At First Sight" and "Come Into My World," Kylie's only Grammy-winning song to date (Best Dance Recording, 2004). Much as I love the original album as whole, the bonus remixes are so terrible. It's as though someone took the most annoying riffs from each song, strung them together and put them on repeat, just so they'd have some bonus tracks to put on later releases of the album. Yes, you can buy the album and just not play the bonus tracks, but I don't know why they wasted everyone's time by putting them there in the first place.
