Wonderful inspiration. The word he sang in this album gives me strength and hope to face the trail of life that is coming after me and my family. It shows the spiritual warfare and beauty that God is.
Yes, indeed!. Truly an amazing album.
Amen!. This album rocks. It is worshipful and moving while maintaining the energy and eclectic style that is David Crowder’s hallmark. Absolutely a fantastic purchase.
Yes.. A great help for my life as a believer to chase after God, and a great inspiration as we make music to encourage others to do the same.
Beautiful Change of Pace. I can't be the only one who's noticed that the Contemporary Christian Music scene recently has been sorely lacking in diversity of theme and musical genre. It's in this setting that Give Us Rest comes forward to break the mold and give us something that knows both the soaring heights and crushing valleys of the spiritual life, reflecting both the joyful and sorrowful aspects of real life that other Christian artists seem to miss among a clamor of "Jesus is awesome" kinds of songs. Musically, this album is a masterpiece. It's spans many genres while never feeling disjointed, and David Crowder's own personal style really ties it all together. From a religious standpoint, it's important to remember that this album is a reimagining of the Requiem Mass, a Mass for the dead. Fittingly, it spans a lot of spiritual ground, and is refreshingly deep. I cannot recommend this album enough, it's a masterpiece not only for Christian music, but for music in general.
