One of Tull's Best Ever. Quibblers aside (Tull vs Ian solo) this is one of the 3 or 4 best ever. Buy, listen , agree !

Awesome. Went to see them in October and this show was amazing, this album is awesome.

A Great Continuation If TAAB. Thick as a Brick remains one of my top 5 all-time favorite albums. Part 2, 40 years later, is just more of the same wonderful music. If you love TAAB 1, you’ll love 2 as well! Lucky us!

Tasty & intelligent - Essence of "Tull". Totally agree with the other reviews. Long-time fans know the long history of periods and styles, and those enjoying the early-jazz improv feel and the more dynamic "Thick as a Brick" orchestral and guitar-rock/flute compositions will really enjoy it. And so would those who are fans of the later Anderson work replete with his whimsical-if-cynical poetry and the magic of his unique voice. For those totally new or on long hiatus from Tull/Anderson offerings: this is a ripe, mature & still fresh album. Lots of good guitar, flute and vocal flourishes, mixed with more philosophy and life musings. As a refugee of the 70's/80's music biz, and passionate fan too, I got hooked on the "change of horses" after a friend sent the link to the track (which is nice since it has the lyrics). Now I've bought it for my next journey into the woods with iTunes and "Tull". I am still just acquiring a taste for a few new ones, and still am hypnotized by a few of the songs each time. Great album from some great artists & performers.

Don’t Need to be a Tull Fan to Love This Album. As an old Tull fan myself - one who had mostly moved on from anything new they put out - this is my first time to be truly excited about music from Ian Anderson since the mid-eighties when the band came out with the successful “comeback” album, Crest of Knave. Some really good tracks on this latest album and a great listen, start to finish (if people still listen to albums that way). Skip some of the brief “poetic readings” if you must (I think they add to the overall product as intended), but hearing this album is like having wondered, just before going to sleep one night in 1972, what a successful Jethro Tull might sound like way into the future, then waking up to find out - - - and best of all, being delighted and impressed. Better yet, knowing that even your Tull-phobic friends would probably give it a genuine thumbs up! Like any band who has been around a long time, Tull has had ups and downs since their fame in the 1970’s, but this album is far and away one of their best works in a very, very long time. Best of all, as my title says, you need not be a Tull fan to like this album. In fact… My son (age 13 at the time of release) heard it and then talked me into seeing it performed live (we ended up seeing - and loving - two shows in a row!), and more impressive still, my non-Tull-fan wife enjoyed the concerts too, and even says this is one Jethro Tull album she truly enjoys. The music is accessible but by no means simplistic. The recording is impeccable and the musicianship most impressive. Anderson’s songwriting does a masterful job of pairing his voice with this creative, polished work.
