Fun, brilliant, and totally unique. This is a great introduction to Father John Misty, I LOVE “pure comedy,” but it can be a little intimidating to the uninitiated. It reminded me a lot of Rubber Soul era Beatles at times, there’s definitely some Roy Orbison, ...for me it was he lyrics. I’ve never heard anything like em. The songs are great, the lyrics are epic, he’s very much the Hunter S Thompson of the current music world... spiced with Octave Mirabeau. Best 10$ I’ve ever spent. After you’ve fallen in love with this, grab “pure comedy,” it’s just phenomenal. Can’t believe it didn’t win the Grammy.
Better than sex. This album is one of my all time favorites. You can't get tired of it, and it's true artistry at it's best. Creative lyrics and heartfelt rhythm. 10/10
Coolness. I don’t usually listen to this type of music, but I have to say it’s an excellent album. I only had to listened to it once to get really into it, by the second and third time I was in love with it.
So much love. I heard one song in a record store and asked the owner who the artist was. I bought the album and was absolutely blown away. I've never heard anything quite like it. Every single song is amazing. You won't be disappointed to drop $10 on this one. Worth every penny.
Perfection. I can't remember the last time I fell completely head over heals in love with an album as I have with this one; it's seemingly impossible to get tired of listening to it and it may as well just live on my turntable. That voice, those lyrics, the production, everything about Fear Fun is perfection.
