great, lost band. The Dream Academy actually did three wonderful albums, a self titled disc in 1985, "Rememberance Days" in 1987, and "A Different Kind Of Weather" in 1990 shortly before their nasty split in 1991. Nick Laird-Clowes, singer/songwriter now releases music under the name Trashmonk and has a new 2010 album on the way. he refuses to sing old Dream Academy songs and says they will never reunite for a tour or album. though he's proud of what they acheived and created together. all in their 50's now they simply feel being in a pop band isn't their place. I urge you all to look around for their other albums, the self titled is here on itunes but I have NO CLUE why their label hasn't made the other two available worth hunting down!

Please, Please, Please...?. I have all 3 CDs that the Dream Academy released because I love this band, but I don't have their Smith's cover of "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want" and I REALLY like that song! It is such a hard find. I hope sometime it comes to iTunes. If you just want a few of their songs though, this EP has a nice variety from their entire collection. It is missing "The Edge of Forever," which is another favorite of mine (both "Please, Please, Please,..." and "Edge of Forever" were featured in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in case you did not know).

LOVE IT!!!!. This band is awesome, my only complaint is that they didn't do more stuff! Ever since Life in a Northern Town came out I was hooked! Even all these years later their music sounds as fresh and easy as the first time I heard it!! Excellent choice getting their music!!

So classic.... I have to say that DA's work is still fresh to me, also. In Places on the Run is one of my all-time favorite pieces and sounds more like a shoegazer piece from the 80's... great stuff indeed. Highly, highly recommended. _

Love the 80's!!!. These guys are great! Brings me back to a time when life was easier and music defined a time and place. Itunes, lets see "Somewhere in the sun, Best of the Dream Academy" soon. There is a fantastic cover of the Smiths "Please, Please, Please let me get what I want" from Ferris Buellers Day Off on it (The Art Institute Scene) plus all of their other great songs. Thanks!
