Ceremony of Carols. A lovely holiday album with the finest available versions of Britten's "Ceremony" and Rutter's "Dancing Day". Following the Britten, "Noel" is a delightfully jarring surprise, with its operatic flavor and dramatic finish. The recording also includes some inventive traditional carol arrangements that benefit from the ethereal all-treble sound ("In dulci jubilo" and "Gabriel's Message" in particular). But my favorite track is the last, "Tomorrow shall be my dancing day," as it really captures the festivity and joy of the Christmas season. Etherea's singing is sublime throughout, as is Grace Cloutier's magical harp playing.
Wonderful Album!. A must-buy album! Beautiful Christmas music, great balance of well-known and lesser-known works. Wonderfully balance of richness and sweetness in the vocal tone, remarkably full sound for a chamber treble ensemble, elegant musicality, moving interpretations. Gorgeous harp playing by Ms. Cloutier, great vocal soloists--all drawn from the ensemble!--and amazing blend in the ensemble. A great blessing for the holiday season.
ceremony of carols. Inspirational and passionate, this is the spirit of Christmas.
A Holiday Must!. This compilation of Etherea's "Ceremony of Carols" is outstanding! Amazing blend of vocals, talent and symphony - A "Must Have" for this year's Holidays - Listening to it now and enjoying every minute.... Thank you!
