Very good colection. Good collection ….a very good one to start indeed - I have almost all the pieces – but then you get picky… can’t find a better interpretation of the Etudes than the one by Arrau, nor a better Consolation 3 than Bolet’s or a match for Kyril Kondrashin, London Symphony Orchestra & Sviatoslav Richter piano concerto # 1 – and so many others – this a GREAT bargain. Yes Brendel is superb (one of my favorites)…and Louis Kentner was a fine pianist…. it has taken me years to decide many interpretations as my favorite. I would recommend this album for a serious starter.

Perfect. Liszt is way out of the league of his time!!

Ok. The etudes in this collection are played poorly, and the entire collection has no dynamics whatsoever, but it's listenable.

Great Music, especially for the money. I can't believe no ones reviewed this yet. Was searching for a good complete collection of Liszt, and after about 30 minutes found this. You get 10 times the amount of songs for the same price as all the other collections. Jerome Rose's playing is pretty good, and he is faithful to the scores. While he's not my favorite pianist his playing is certainly enjoyable. If you're looking for a good, and complete liszt collection I highly recommend this. Now If only I could find a good collection of chopin….

Liszt Soirée!. The Etudes are not played poorly! Someone who alludes such, should not be writing a Classical review. To make such a statement one first should be a Pianist, and also one who can play the Etudes themselves, which few Pianist in the world can do. Despite my iTunes name, I was a formally trained Classical Pianist. I appreciate many many styles of Music. I bow to anyone who can play the Etudes of Franz Liszt even close to what is presented here. The dynamic range is fine, and this is a true Bargain. Alfred Brendel is superb, almost no one can play the Piano Sonata in B Minor, and Louis Kentner was a fine Concert Pianist!
