surprising. I first heard about this on the Sound Opinions podcast and bought it. I was really surprised at the depths and the aesthetic. This album captures how I feel during the holidays when only the christmas tree lights are on, and I am sitting reflecting on the past year. It is a moody and truthful album with beautiful muted tones - the sound of twinkling glass bells in the dark. My favorites are Long Way Around the Sea (haunting vocals, it is otherworldy) and If You Were Born Today - it is nice when bands are not afraid to practice their right to free speech. "If you were born today, we'd kill you with jade". So true.

Pretty great - even for 1905!. A wonderful Christmas album. Particularly groundbraking for those alive in 1905. (By far one of THE best versions of "Little Drummer Boy" ever.)

just like christmas. this is an excellent christmas album. it really captures the melancholy side of the season and is a welcome change of pace. when you've heard "rockin' around the christmas tree" for the one millionth time and you're thinking you'd rather shoot yourself than listen to another christmas song it's time to queue up a little low. "just like christmas" would make phil spector proud.

Modern, coffee-shop style Christmas Album!. I didn't find this album depressing like some reviewers but rather mellow, peaceful and pretty. The lyrics are a little more deeper than some of the catchier, upbeat Christmas stand-bys like "Jingle Bells." Stand-out tracks for me were: "If You Were Born Today" and "Little Drummer Boy." If you are like me and like to have a variety of classic, modern, upbeat and low-tempo Christmas songs in your itune library, you should check this album out! I discovered this album as someone recommended it online for those who enjoy indie, alternative, modern Christmas music.

Great Alternative to cliche'd Chirstmas Tunes. If you're tired of the same old same old for Christmas check this out. If You were Born Today is probably my favorite of all of Low's song, and one of the best modern Christmas songs written. The rest of the songs are gorgeous.
