Good deal but slightly disappointing. Yes, 24 hours of music for approximately $10 is a good bargain. While this collection is large and has some very good pieces in it, I was slightly disappointed with the amount of vocal work in it. Many pieces (or all, possibly) of "Messiah" are in this collection and the majority of them seem to be choral pieces. I was looking for INSTRUMENTAL-only, orchestral music. While there are quite a few instrumental-only pieces on here, there are far too many choral pieces for my taste. Overall, it's a bargain and has a fair selection of music; however, I'm disappointed with all the singing in this collection.

unbelievable deal. I am more of a rock / jazz / blues / folk guy but this is an amazing deal and I am enjoying expanding my musical horizons.

I hate it.... I have to be honest. This is simply not the way I want to experience classical music. It is not how the great composers intended it to be, nor the orchestras when they were performing the pieces. When I from time to time listen to a compilation I would like it to be a unique selection of pieces made by someone who has a new angle, a new idea that enhance my experience. I saw some people here mentioning great value. I think it devaluates classical music in general. If you are looking for an introduction to the wonderful world of classical music, don't let this be your first classical music experience.

Generic classical listener...... I am absolutely not a classical connoisseur....just a run of the mill, once in a while classical music listener. And yes, I bought this CD by the law of averages (how many out of 316 items can be horrible for under $10.00????) And yes, I heavy handedly deleted.....I kept 199. And yes, 63 of them ended up in my playlist. The varietly is amazing! It covers many gendre.....some you may like, some maybe not. Even if you have a "basic" collection.....this CD still delivers. Overall this CD is definitely worth the money. And it is exactly what the title says: A PERFECT start!
