One to have in your collection-PURE GENIUS. Jeff Buckley’s talent is perfectly showed in this setting-live and raw and as endearing and wholesome as he wanted it to be. For any Jeff Buckley fan, this MUST be a staple in your collection. This captures him at his best, loving his craft and showing the honesty and poetic skill that set him so far above all others. For those that believe in Heaven, we all should take comfort in knowing he’s up there playing and doing what he always loved to do.
This album is one of the most enlightening pieces out there.... I don't know which is more awe-inspiring.. hearing the late great younger Buckley play for a small intimate crowd or hearing Frank Black's musical master mind at work playing, explaining, and planning several songs that became hits for his band The Pixies on the Frank Black Francis release. But back to Jeff Buckley. If you consider yourself a fan at all, get this. If not, get this. Basically, anyone who is a fan of music should have spin this double album at least once. From covers of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Nina Simone, Dylan, Zeppelin, Billie Holiday and more to some of his original pieces like Lover, You Should Have Come Over and Eternal Life… this live album just has it all. What's most enjoyable in my opinion is the banter between Jeff and the audience. His vulnerability and honesty just highlight the bravery and imaginative exploration of music, of which he stated before his passing was "endless." Sometimes I wish this live album were endless.
Nothing better. Jeff was absolutely amazing. Hands down, breathtaking. This album shows his incredible talent, and octave range. The highest note he hits is the way young lovers do at 7:23. I don't know about the lowest note. You can feel the soul and emotions pouring from the songs. He does songs in french and a song by nusrat, his "Elvis". In this album, you can get to know Jeff more. I love the monologues. My favorite song on this album is between I shall be released and je n'en connais pas la fin. RIP Jeffrey Scott Buckley.. Scotty. The greatest singer to ever open their mouth.
Masterpiece. MASTERPIECE
Incredible.. Every track on this album is amazing. Even his Monologues, I just love hearing his voice since it's so rare. It's been 12 years now that he's been dead, going on 13 and this album is pure talent. A very small amount of people can sing this well. Hardly anybody can sing this well LIVE. Even his Pakistanian cover of Yeh Jo Halka Saroor Hae is beautiful. This album is most deffinantly the smartest $17.00 I've spent. Some of my favourites include: Be Your Husband Lover, You Should've Come Over The Twelfth of Never Calling You Je N'en Connais Pas la Fin Hallelujah But everyone is worth it.
