An album of pure genius!!. I've followed 311 since 1999. Slowly, but surely, absorbing their catalog. I'm a huge fan and they're an amazing band live! Once I say them in Feburary of 2011, I immediately became hooked and dug through their past albums. When I came upon the song "Running", I knew I had to have this album! I dug pretty much every song out of "Transistor". The title track is excellent! "Inner Light Spectrum" solidifies my theory that they're this generation's Grateful Dead, and it's a trippy and relaxing track. "No Control" is catchy, with it's breakdowns and heavy riffs. The same goes for "Jupiter", a stellar track with SA and Nick exchanging smooth melodies against a track that'll make you wanna jump up and down! "Running" is an inspirational tune that reminds you to try and live life with some joy, and go along for the journey. "Starshines" was a track that took a bit for me to like, but I ended up loving it! It's unusual in it's form, which makes it an amazing song. The last song, "Stealing Happy Hours", is a great jam, but could've done without the long trail-off that comes at the end of the song. A great and diverse album from one of the best bands out there today! As long as 311 keeps jamming, I'll be happy!

Great mix, not as much filler as expected. While the length of the record may be a bit overwhelming, the reward is a great one. There are so many essential songs on here that the length seems almost necessary. I mean, Jupiter is fantastic, Prisoner is such a nice jam, Borders rocks hard, Transistor is just amazing... the list of pros goes on and on. At 10 bucks, why would you even THINK about passing this fine, fine record up?

Great Album!. When 311 went truely mainstream with the blue album people were expecting something that matched that. Transistor does not. It is 311 most ambitious album yet. But it is awesome and my favorite album ever!
