An Album Full of Simple Pleasures. "My Foolish Heart" is an album that's never off of my iPod. Ms. Story's interpretations of these songs are simple pleasures of musicianship, with beautiful phrasings, a light touch, and a caring for the songs that retain the original beauty of the melodies, yet seem to be heard anew. It would be hard to pick just one or two favorites from this album, but her rendition of "My Ship" stops me from whatever I may be doing to listen to the beauty of her playing of the Kurt Weill classic, and the extremely beautiful version of "Someday My Prince Will Come" evokes a touch of Bill Evans, but is unmistakably her own. Other notables from this collection include the title track, "How Insensitive", "You Are Too Beautiful", and "All the Things You Are". This was a real find for me, as I had owned another of her albums, "Pure Liz Story", which is more new age than jazz. I've ended up liking them both, and appreciate with every listen her artistry on the piano.
Beautiful..... A great recording and a "must" addition to any jazz collection
Amazing Musician! 5 million stars!!. This is an AMAZING jazz album. Liz Story is known for her beautiful new age music, but she really shows off her jazz chops here. You can hear the Bill Evans influence in her interpretaions of these jazz classics. This is a must have disc! You will not regret this addition to your library. I only ask that Ms.Story release another gem like this collection soon...PLEASE!!!!!
