Wow, it's REALLY bad.. Where is the Dido of a few years ago, who wrote music with gorgeous melodies, and whose voice was beautiful and haunting? This is a collection of half-spoken, half-whispered trash that she apparently calls "singing." Whoever pushed her in this direction, and whoever produced this mess, should be drawn and quartered. Seriously, this is a HUGE misstep in an already tenuous career, and it will take a HUGE comeback to even remotely make it back onto the scene after releasing this tragic mess of an album. We want the old Dido back.

This is it?. So I've been waiting for this album since 2003--desperately waiting, but I have to say that I am pretty disappointed. Dido has been my absolute favorite solo artist for years so I was elated to learn a new album was FINALLY coming out. The lyrics are uninspiring and many of the songs sound the same. It's too bad because we probably can't expect another album (to make up for this one) for another five years or so.

warm slow burning love. Simply wonderful. No Angel was great, an edgy pleasurable surprise (and still is). Life For Rent, not so much, except for White Flag. But Safe Trip Home – very good, smart and mellow. This is a slow burning love...give it time to settle into your mind (e.g., The Day Before the Day, Grafton Street, Us 2 Little Gods, Don't Believe In Love...it's all there). Adjust your head set. Post Script: This is a masterpiece. Intellectually and emotionally rich. The heartbeat fade to black at the end of Northern Skies is conceptually unique and brilliant - an end (or new beginning) to life's incredible journey.

Dido's most thoughtful album yet. I enjoy all of Dido's music, but this album is by far her most eloquent creation. It is musically understated and its lyrics are thought provoking, both qualities that lend it depth that cannot be grasped in a first listening. While her former works were instantly likable but became tiring more quickly, songs from "Safe Trip Home" only grow more and more dear with subsequent hearings. A wonderful album!

Thoughtful... Worth it.. The same smooth and gorgeous voice but with a more sophisticated musical arrangement and thoughtful (less pop) attitude. I'm on my second spin and the disk is already growing on me... If you want to spend a quiet time accompanied by her silky voice, and are not afraid to hear painful lyrics, this may be a disc for you. I am certainly enjoying it! I hope you will too... Just know what you are getting into before you push the buy button and save us from a disgruntled and poorly written review. Cheers!
