Welcome to the industry.... There is nothing a band can do to cement (or celebrate) their arrival as an "industry" band more than to release a Christmas CD. Sure enough - Casting Crowns trots out "Peace On Earth" to make all the little "sunday school moms" happy. These guys were one of my favorite bands when they first released "Lifesong". Their first two Cd's, for the most part, demonstrated quite beautifully that you can still have good music with a message. Since then, however, their creativity and originality has gone down the drain. This CD would be alright with me if I hadn't heard what they were capable of already, but I think Casting Crowns needs to take some time off and figure out what exactly they want to be - a challenging, hard hitting, passionate and original band or another crew of Mercy Me wannabes. RelientK (re)released their Christmas CD "Let it Snow, Baby...Let it Reindeer" which now has 19 tracks. In contrast, when you subtract "While You Were Sleeping" (already released) (I know it's got a new verse, but that required almost no effort), "Away In a Manger" (already released), "Christmas Offering" (complete filler - I've heard local worship leaders do better renditions), and "Sweet Little Jesus Boy" (c'mon Mark Hall, really?) you have basically 6 tracks of decent Christmas music in which there is no shred of Casting Crown's singular passion and signature retelling of a message that Christians desperately need to hear right now. Indeed, the best track on the whole release may be Melody's superb interpretation of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel". If you're looking for a good alternative download Andrew Peterson's Christmas CD "Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ"

Casting Crowns are a breath of fresh air. We've used several of these songs at church and the people love it. Some new arrangements of old favorites including a great rendition of O Come Emmanuel on violin - excellent!

Brilliant!. If you love Casting Crowns......Need I say more. Sends Chills down my spine, listening to anything they perform. Definitely a must have for the CC Fans.

Album is 5 stars iTunes is zero!. How is it possible that I can purchase an album from iTunes and have played it many many times and suddenly one song, While You Were Sleeping, is “no longer available”??? Is it because the lyrics talk about America as a country that wants “save the trees but kills the children”. Is this censorship? Seems like it to me.
