greg the bunny is an idiot. So i only reviewed this and gave it 5 stars (even tho i think its 4 star worthy) because greg the bunny gave this album only one star. I hate people who do that. If you like music similiar to The mountain goats and just dislike this album then i would understand the poor rating. Your well informed in the genre thus your opinion is relevant. However greg the bunny is not an indie music fan. I mean come on, the guy listens to anberlin and actually LIKES nickelback.....why is a nickelback fan listening to the mountain goats and bagging on the? Please dont listen to his opinion. if someone likes nickelback please dont ever listen to their opinion. This is a great cd by a great creative band, enough said. click yes if you agree, just to prove the pompous greg the bunny wrong.

Great songs, great album. Fans of the Mountain Goats' recent turn toward a fuller sound won't be disappointed by this album. After the relatively quiet, downbeat "Get Lonely," the Mountain Goats return with an album full of big hooks and quirky subject matter, ranging from a Chinese monster to the murder of reggae great Prince Far I. Great stuff from start to finish.

Good, but not the best Mountain Goats album.. The Mountain Goats have never done a bad album. Some albums are better than others though. This isn't one of the better albums. Most Mountain Goats albums have a concept. This one doesn't. As a result, the stories in these songs tend to go by too quickly and I don't really get into them. There's only 3 songs that I love. "In the Craters on the Moon," "Lovecraft in Brooklyn" and "New Zion." The rest of the songs I like, but don't love. "Craters" is a top 10 Mountain Goats song though.

I'm not sure, but maybe as good as Sunset Tree.. This is wonderful. Lovecraft in Brooklyn is especially nice with the addition of elec guitar as mentioned by other reviewers. this goes back to what makes the mountain goats amazing. Buy it if you like them, if not don't. not for everybody
