Songs that Stick!. I just can't get there songs out of my head, well crafted, sometimes haunting melodies. Lovely music!

Blow You Away. This right here is basically a lesson by example of how to make a fantastic, successful, and, in the end, worthy indie album (do note that I find a good chunk of indie to be either boring or somewhat conceited in its own way. A bit ironic considering I've lived in Seattle my whole life, but I dislike thinking of music in location terms... unless the band is good, which Band of Horses is). The three weakest songs are Lamb on the Lam, Islands on the Coast, and Marry Song, and other than that, any of these could so easily be hits. Of course, the ones that ARE hits (ie No One's Gonna Love You and Is There a Ghost) certainly deserve their status more than the others. The album is just plain fun. It's nothing you're going to be seriously rocking out to, but boy, I'll tell you, when the mood strikes you for stuff like this, there's none better than Band of Horses, and there's no better Band of Horses than Cease to Begin. It even surpasses Everything All The Time, which blew me right out of the water. If you MUST buy only a few key songs, let it be: 1) No One's Gonna Love You 2) Is There A Ghost 3) Ode to LRC 4) Cigarettes, Wedding Bands 5) Detlef Schrempf But really, just go ahead and buy the entire album. I guarantee that if you only get a few songs this once, you'll come back for a few more, and a few more, until you have all ten. Skip the hassle and just buy the damn thing already, it's probably cheaper if you factor in tax. It is so worth it.
