Cause aside, this is the worst. The obvious fact is that this music was made for a good cause. Props for that. But you should write your review based on the music. All I'm saying is that John Lennon's songs were stripped down, raw portraits into his soul about problems with the world. "Power to the People" was not meant to be redone years later as some "hip" song with a club beat in the background. It's like in the 80s when Nike used the Beatles' "Revolution" for their add campaign. The song was not meant to be about a sneaker. It was about true revolution and changing the world. The same goes for all of John Lennon's songs. Please, people, Christina Aguilera? Black Eyed Peas? Avril Lavigne? Duran Duran? Yellowcard? How in the world can you take this seriously? Answer: you can't.

Great Album, Great Cause. Couldn't afford this version, so I bought the $11.99 version at a Borders. It was AMAZING. Matisyahu, Postal Service, Jakob Dylan, Jack's Mannequin, and Los Lonely Boys were all huge surprises! This is even better than the $11.99 version! Buy it, for Darfur.

Beautiful song.... but its one of those songs that only a certain type of artist can (with an extreme amount of effort) can imitate. Avril Lavigne didn't even try, therefore she felt flat and short.
