Tubeway Army) in it's first wave (late-70s early-80s). For example, Talking Heads, Blondie, The Ramones, and The Clash (despite being branded as punk). Something that really annoys me about this album is that it mainly uses the Polymoog "Vox Humana" preset throughout the album. Why not tweeking those knobs on the synth to get a more creative sound? No track really stands out in this album, except for "Cars" because it was Numan's one-hit wonder. The album itself is a dead drone. If there is only one decent track in this album, it would be the overlooked "Metal". And what makes this album so influential? Take a look at Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, new material from Britney Spears and The Black Eyed Peas, and all the other nonsense charting the Top 40 today. Thank god synthpop was out in the 90s.
