Faultess!. I have always loved Murray Perahia's performances. I have four or five albums on my ipod. Pound per pound and ounce for ounce he is an exceptional artist at home with the baroque masterpieces of Bach and Scarlatti as well as the great romantics like Liszt and Rachmaninov. He gives the music its time and place and never seems to stamp his "personality" on it. This album is no different. I believe you need a certain touch to play baroque music and Perahia is one of the few that has it. Mikhail Pletnev's Scarlatti is also a joy and Horowitz's Scarlatti is absolutely delightful. I know Glenn Gould is considered a demi-god but I have never liked his recordings. I found them "naked" and heavy-handed. Perahia also does a splendid job on Mendelssohn solo works and Mozart concerti.

Perahia at his absolute best!. You can't find a more beautiful sounding piano record. On this record, stylistic stringency defers to tonal beauty. As usual, Perahia's touch and tone belie an indebtedness to his teacher/mentor Horszowski. Perahia exhibits a caring love and reverance for the music, coupling that with an ebullient enthusiasm, and the sparkling technique and sensitive ear that are hallmarks of all his perfomances. An outstanding effort from an artist that never disappoints.

Art at the highest level...... In Brillion recording, if you love piano and if you love classical music this album will be on heavy rotation in your home or on your phone....
