Finale Song Lyrics

Finale by Doreen Montalvo, Anthony Ramos, Stephanie Beatriz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Dascha Polanco, Jimmy Smits, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Grace & Melissa Barrera Song Lyrics

Bolero Singer:
No te vayas
Si me dejas
Si te alejas de mi
Seguirás en mis recuerdos para siempre
Para siempre
Para siempre
Para siempre
Para siempre

Lights out on Washington Heights
and now the crack of dawn the blackout
goes on, and on, and on
Sonny's out back sortin' the trash
as I think about the past
with the sack full of cash
Abuela really wanted me up on the beach
with margaritas in my reach,
but soon that's how it's gonna be
imagine me leavin' today
on a seven-forty-seven
boardin' JFK.

The hydrants are open
cool breezes blow

Carla and Daniela:
The hydrants are open
cool breezes blow X4

Piragua Guy:
Piragua, piragua
new block of ice, piragua
so sweet and nice, piragua
piragua, piragua X4

Good Morning X3

Siempre
Seguiras en mis recuerdos
Para siempre X2

I'll be downtown
It won't be long now

There's a breeze of the Hudson
and just when you think you're
sick of living of here the memory
floods in
the morning light off the fire escapes
the nights at Bennett Park blasting
big pun tapes

I'm-a miss this place to tell you the truth
Kevin- dispensin' wisdom
from his dispatch booth
and at dawn Vanessa at the Salon
we gotta move on
and who's gonna notice we're gone

When our jobs done
When the evening winds down to a crawl, son
can I ease my mind when we're all done
When we've resigned in the long run
what do we leave behind

DURR. DURR I DON'T HEAR ANY AFRO-LATINOS ON THIS SOUNDTRACK, I CAN'T BELIEVE LIN MANUEL MIRANDA INVENTED SPANISH PEOPLE AND DIDN'T INCLUDE ANY AFRO-LATINOS IN THE MOVIE

Love it except…. I wish they kept Sunrise and Everything I Know. But DRVs Carnavale is OUTSTANDING!

The youngest tycoon in Washington Hiz-nits!. If you’re a shameless Drama Kid like me who fell in love with “In The Heights” back when it came out (oooh, hipster, liking it BEFORE it was cool!) and wondering, “should I get this soundtrack?” Yes, I think so. Yes. It’s not a remake or retread of the play — aside from a certain reprised role that’ll knock your socks off, the cast is different, and they’re all bringing a similar energy but a different “take” on the material. If you’ve seen any regional productions, you know how many Usnavis re-create the original cast’s vocal mannerisms, beats, and choices. This is not that. It’s not a remake. It’s a joyful, energetic, sincere modern re-interpretation, and the lyrics (even when tweaked, and at least one line in 96,000 *HAD* to be tweaked, if you know what I mean 😉) are as sharp and clever as ever. The only downside about the whole “not being a remake” thing? If you’ve seen the film, you know that a the creators cut a character (I miss Nina’s mom!) and a number of songs (including “Sunrise,” “Hundreds of Stories,” and “Inútil”). A lot of the tweaks serve to update the story to reflect the reality of Latinx people post 2016 (versus the original, circa 2008). A lot of those changes — especially in the lyrics — are really hard-hitting and respectable, but it’s truly a different story in places. Still with me? Good! Because if you’re prepared for some tweaks, I think you’ll come to appreciate this soundtrack as one worth blasting on your way to work, whether you live on the barrio or in the ‘burbs.

I've waited years for this and the verdict is..... This is the best stage to screen adaption of a broadway musicial. WOW. The songs have their own twist that differs from the original at times but it's good twists and I love both versions. It took so many years for this to happen but I'm estatic the studio finally greenlit this and it's getting the recongition it deserves!

Amazing!!. The original play, the movie and the soundtrack really portray the essence of the Latin community in the US! The storytelling, the acting and the singing is incredible!! Amazing job done by the cast!
