MS. Unfortunately, I have to say that there is nothing good about this album. The hype and publicity around the launch was better than the album. If Paul could have stuck to writing songs that he wrote when he was a Beatle or had Wings,and didnt feel like he had to do songs that he thinks the youth of today might like, he would be the master.

Wow! A true genius in ‘Rockdown’!. Even at the forefront of musical innovation, Sir Paul never looses the knack to produce a memorable, complex and developed melody. The layers and texture of rhythm and meaningful lyrics are also intertwined in the tracks of this album. Each track is like a chapter, in someways linked but each an adventure unto its own.

Highs & Lows. A mixed bag, but Women & Wives makes it all worth it on its own. As with all McCartney solo releases, there are high & low points, and one wishes that John or George were there in the control room to tell him when to stop the self-indulgence. Nevertheless, it’s better than 90% of the stuff released today, so I’m thankful for the privilege of hearing a musical legend at 78 having the energy & desire to keep producing music. And Women & Wives will go down as one of his best from his later catalogue.

Sad. I tried but it’s was really bad

As expected. I’ve been a Beatles tragic since 13 years of age-I’m now 64. When I fist heard that McCartney was releasing McCartney 3 I became nervous about what to expect. I wasn’t a huge fan of a Egypt Station and over the past few years McCartneys vocals have been average to say the least. But......then again the guys in his late 70s and he’s never going to sound like he did during the 60s. I’ve listened to the new release a few times and it’s about what I expected. In my opinion there are no real stand out tracks that might stay with you 5-10 years on. Sure there are few nice melodies as you’d expect and McCartney could never be criticised for not going out on a limb in experimenting with new sounds from a broad range of instruments. What is amazing when you listen to the album all the way through, is the realisation that he’s playing every instrument. That’s talent! I quite liked the opening track, nice guitar work and there is some fine electric guitar riffs throughout. I couldn’t get into the song Lavatory Lil or Slidin’. Songs like Pretty Boys, Women and Wives are pretty forgettable too. It’s not an album that will be remembered. There are no ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ songs on the album. It’s basically a legend having a good time recording whatever he wants. Someone who doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. It’s not a bad album, but it’s no classic either. Well worth a few listens just because it’s Paul McCartney and we’re all interested to see and hear what’s he’s been up to.
